This place used to be a value, now its a tourist trap. They don't even give you chips and salsa!! The Tacos are more like salads, and the meat is tasteless. If you go on the weekend it may take a while to be seated, even for lunch. Not worth it. Not now, not ever. more

What has happened?? 5/16/2008

Taco temple, at one time was wonderful, the food is still o.k. Now you can't be served on the patio, you can't\r order certain items to go,at someones whim. You are treated like cattle!!! I'VE BEEN TREATED BETTER AT TACO BELL??? Image that. The roll your eyes service at night , I'll never be back. GOOD LUCK! Pros: parking Cons: attitude more

NEVER AGAIN!!! 6/24/2007

I am absolutely amazed at the great reviews for Taco Temple. For a highy inflated price, I was served boiled chicken with a pile of lettuce on top -- no seasoning, no tomatoes, no fresh herbs, nothing. It was bland and distasteful. The odd taste of the chicken actually gagged me after a while. There were no sides to go along with this ""chicken salad"". The place looked like a bus stop inside and a 99-cent store outside. There were no booths, just uncomfortable wooden chairs and too many tables crammed into a very, very noisy room. Kids were screaming and folks were shouting over the kids. My husband orderd a Salmon Salad. The Salmon was flopped onto a plate by itself and a salad was plopped down next to it. And that was that. Weird meal. We love to eat good, healthy food and were looking forward to this place, but, Oh, my God!!!!"" Pros: They allowed us to leave the building. Cons: Ugly building, no ambience, ear deafening, horrible food, over-priced more

Talk about California Cuisine 11/17/2006

This place is great, really low key and informal; this place boasts the best fish tacos i have ever had. The portions are large as is the flavor. They basically do a california take on spanish/mexican food. Really healthy and fresh tasting food. Pros: Large portions of high quality food Cons: Can get very busy, no reservations, so plan on waiting for awhile if it's dinner time. more

User review by attackitkat 4/18/2006

This is the first review i have written but I felt that this was worth it. We took the recommendations from city search and it was love at first bite. Even took dessert back to the hotel (walnut caramel pie - need I say more?) The best tacos. Even the entertainment was perfect. We want to make the 3 hour drive this weekend, just for the food! Pros: tacos, friendly, dessert more

Taco Temple's Calamari Rings are Tops 4/18/2006

Try the Calamari Ring appetizer as a main dish and the bread pudding or tres leches cake for dessert. The fish tacos are great; everything is savory; cash or checks only, though. Yummy shoestring potatoes, too. Pros: Food quality, Variety, Desserts Cons: Pricey for family, Crowded, Hard to get seated more

the personality of the central coast 1/19/2006

I am compelled to review. Ive lived on the central coast off/on most of my life. The Temple in my opinion is the best representation of our personality as a community by way of a dining experience. The food is cheerful, healthy, relaxed, and sophisticated all this seeming to occur accidentally on purpose. These are key requirements in gaining the unbending dedication and respect of the locals that haunt this place. Locals=The smart people that call in their orders on the weekends. The service is reminiscent of a country cafe where its not a crime to have small children at the table smearing food around. I think one of the best things is they treat everyone like they are locals so if you are visiting or just driving thru town they put our best food forward:) oh yea, they expanded the dining room soo nice! Pros: Choc. pudding more

Awesome... 6/20/2005

Taco Temple is Awesome, Great food, Best fish tacos I have ever had, and I have had a few too many ! Pros: Great Food, Friendly Service, Great Carrot Cake Cons: Small Dinning Room, "Hole in the Wall" more

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS 5/20/2005

This is the best place for a quality meal of any kind. Mostly specializing in mexican, sometimes they have a meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes that is to die for!!! You won't find any fresher ingredients than what is used here. The staff is top notch. I have been a customer for the last four years and turnover is very low. The staff there take great pride in the product of the business! You can dine outside and bring your dog along too! Cash or local check only. ATM next door at the market. You won't find better desserts anywhere on the central coast. Made fresh every single day from scratch! Pros: fresh ingredients Cons: No reservations more

Fantastico 4/19/2005

The amazing thing about this little funky CA fusion place is the quality of the ingredients and the complexity of the food. The tacos offer a variety of fresh raw vegetables in abundance--something unheard of in most Mexican restaurants, and the blackboard specials contain fresh fish and creative alternatives. Portions are huge, especially if you order a burrito or a tostada. Pros: Inexpensive, good parking, fresh ingredients Cons: crowded, no reservations, cash only more
