recently, visited sushi dokoro ki ra la in bev hills with fellow workers from icm and dined on their omakase course...oh what a new find. been to nishimura, mori and sasabune but this place is outstanding. first of all the freshest fish, try their live sweet shrimp!!, second the atmoshpere and third the customer care and overall charm of the restaurant. the above mentioned rest. are all great, but it lacks service and charm. its like ur just a number in a factory or something. esp. sasabune. sometimes these other places forget who is paying the bill!. compared to the others, this place also has the classics like the spicy tuna, yakitori chicken, tempura, calif.. etc. for the non raw fish eaters. oh yeah, and they dont look down on anyone, just because they dont know you or your wife hates raw fish~~my wife doesnt eat raw fish, so this place is absolutely perfect for those 'once in a blue moon' dates when my kids are asleep. she' s hooked on the simple fact that they serve champagne (40 bucks for a bottle of nv lp!? almost as cheap as ralphs) this place is just a gem! get to know yoshi and he'll def. steer you in the right direction. for all you people who are price sensitive....like yoshi says, you get what you pay for, there is a reason cheaper restaurants cover their sushi with all that sauce!! this place knows the right people weather its the fish monger, uni monger? or the chefs (michisan)
the toro from japan is like butter!! go early though, because since the food cost of such delicacies is so high and to avoid wasted food, they might run out for the night, but dont worry they are open seven days a week~~ reserv and enjoy
