Dr Griffin is the best... his work is amazing. My dog got hit by a car and was left with a severe fracture. I was quoted $7000.00 by the emergency pet hospital in San Mateo (not including hospital stay and meds), We thought we would have to put her down. Dr. Griffin was able to do the surgery for $2000.00 and she is doing amazing. He has a passion for his work like I have never seen. I would recommend him to anyone with pet issues. THANK YOU DR GRIFFIN!!! more

The BEST Pet Hospital!!! :) 6/1/2008

I use to work for (2)Vet hospitals in the bay area, and when I got out of that line of biz wanted to find a good vet who won't rip you off, not afraid to call in a specialist, and caring also! Someone recommended Dr. Griffin, and he is the BEST!!! His rates are fair, and his staff is very hard working and they all truly care for the animals. When my "Boy" got sick, he was there for 5 days getting tests, IV, antibiotics, and everything. A specialist was called in for a Sonogram. I was invited to visit AT ANY TIME, with him. He was always on a clean blanket, clean cage, very well taken care of. Unfortunately he had to have exploratory surgery which he did not survive. But I know everything possible was done for him, Dr. Griffin even had a Specialist there to help with the surgery!\r I brought my other dog Sandy to him also.\r When I had to PTS sandy (German shepherd's wobbler syndrome) every one was very caring...and when my Boy passed away..the staff and Dr. Griffin even wrote me a per more

He is patient and understanding when you first come in with your brand new puppy at 2 months old and walks you through all the stages of your dogs life. \r \r Timber's mom more

An Animal Friendly Vet 12/13/2007

What a terrific vet and office staff at Spruce Avenue Pet Hospital! I've recently started trapping feral cats with the intention of "fixing" and releasing them (so that I may continue to feed the colony). The staff at Spruce Pet Hospital has been very accommodating in squeezing the spay/neutering procedure in on a moment's notice. Obviously, trapping these animals is a very unpredictable business so calling the vet ahead of time to make arrangements for the spay/neuter procedure is almost impossible. However, each time I've been successful in trapping a feral cat, they've gone above and beyond to squeeze us in to their very busy schedule. \r \r Thank you so much for being such a caring place and making your services available to these poor animals (they accept spay/neuter vouchers from the San Mateo Animal Control Services and few other vets do). Because of you, these cats will be able to live their lives without fear of being trapped and euthanized.\r \r Incidentally, we also use S more

Probably the best vet in the Bay Area! 1/31/2007

Though many vets and clinics are closer to my home (and I've been to most of them), Dr. Griffin's is by far the best. He has the most reasonable rates, is very sympathetic in times of stress or grief, orders only the tests your pet needs and will answer all your questions. He is swamped and sometimes seems gruff, but it comes with the territory. He's the only vet, but his staff is usually very helpful. more
