South Hill General Medical Clinic

I pick my son up from daycare. He has a fever, cough, runny nose, and then projectile vomits on him, me, and his teacher. I called South Hill Urgent Care (it's less than a minute from our home). I told Michelle my son's condition and asked if they accept his insurance. She said they do but he has to be assigned to their clinic. I explained his pediatrician is an hour away and closed and my child needs to be seen. She then told me they can't treat him I need to go to the ER. Has anyone ever heard of a child being denied medical! At least give me the option to pay out of pocket. Not straight out deny a one year old medical attention! more

I went in get my 1 year prescription filled (they have done this in the past), explained what I needed, went through all the motions. Explained because I'm hourly I cant take the time off of work to get into my normal doctor,and need this prescription filled.\r \r Instead they come back with with a 90d prescription and tell me I have to go see my regular doctor doctor anyways. WTF?\r \r So now I get to pay for 2 doctor visits, instead of one.\r \r They told me they dont dothose sort of prescriptions (note: they have in the past), then why the heck not tell me up front, and I would have left.\r \r As I said above, now I have to pay for another office call. Poor service, dishonest.\r more

If you are looking for a bright, shiny new facility, look elsewhere. But if you just want competent care on a budget or want to avoid the outrageous costs of the emergency room, this is an excellent alternative. My son got stitches in his head from an excellent older asian doctor (forgot his name). If you pay in full before you go (credit card okay) you pay half! That reflects a reality of American medicine--billing alone is a huge issue that artificially raises costs. When I hurt myself, they worked with me and even got me some free sample antibiotics since I don't have insurance. more

I know that other people do not give this place very good reviews, but after going to 3 other doctors for extreme fatigue as well as other symptoms and hearing ""Your blood work looks fine. Go get some rest, your fine"" from every one of them, this clinic finally took me seriously and ordered an MRI. After it came back positive for Multiple Sclerosis, I just want to say thank you for believing me. I only wish the other doctors would have been this responsible and I could have had this disease diagnosed 2 years ago. Thank you so much! more

I have never been treated so poorly. I recommend you read all reviews. My expierence is just one of many. Front desk coordinator was rude, unprofessional and unsympathetic and acted as if my being there was an inconvience to her. She refused to contact insurance company even though this clinic and the doctors are listed on the prefered providers list for coverage. While in exam room, changing into gown. Front desk coordinator burst into exam room without knocking, where I (the patient) was standing, undressed and she stood in the door way with the door open with her co-workers walking thru the hallways. I got dressed, and I left in tears because I was injured and being treated like a drug addicted felon, without being seen by a doctor. According to the recording they play while you are hold for this office, the staff is professional, sympathetic and they work with injuries all the time. This couldnt be farther from the truth. I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone! All staff in doctors offices should be caring and helpful. They are there to help people, NOT to make them feel as if they are not worthy of medical care. This is by far the worst expierence I have ever had and warn against anyone using this clinic. more

I am a long time patient and very pleased with the staff & sevice. Walk in, great hours for those of us still are still working. Wait time depends on when you go in. Long wait. Diagnosis incorrect. Results of lab tests never sent until I finally called & asked for them.\r \r To top it all off. They used the physical address, which doesn't receive mail, even though it was written in big letters NO MAIL and provided the PO Box. Nobody apprently checked the file or called to verify the address. \r \r So, now my 18-year-old daughter now has a ding against her credit for a stupid clerical error by South Hill General Med Clinic. \r \r All her medical bills are paid by us (parents) and I have perfect credit. So, be warned---Your credit could get trashed due to their incompetency! more

I have gone several times to these physicians and have never been disappointed or neglected. I was never on a time limit with talking to them. I have had other doctors and ended up going to this clinic with pneumonia. The doctor immediately knew what was wrong and within days I was better. They have always diagnosed me correctly. I believe the thing I like the most about these physicians is they work together and most of all they LISTEN TO ME!!! I feel being a woman that is so important. Thanks to all the admin as well they always great you with a smile. more

Wow,Well this is the 2nd time I have used these guys.The Docs are great they don't make you sit an wait for hours in the waiting room nor in the patients room.I had food poisoning he first time and this time was some kind of flue bug I could not talk nor eat an was in bed for 4 days husband said we are going to the docs.They gave me an Anti.I need a stronger one called them up an there was no hassles an no charge they gave me a stronger Anti. I have more problems going to my normal docs anthe waiting time is horrible at the hospital Emerg.I will keep going to these docs they are great an I am almost done with this sickness (the next day)\r Thank you So much for taking care me. Pros: If you pay cash it is 1/2 off more

If you are looking for a Dr. do NOT go to this place seeking one. They have a rotation of drs. so it is very impersonal. Warning...if you suffer from any pain do NOT go here, as they do NOT perscribe anything except anti inflammatories. This place is PRIVATELY OWNED ! They charge a ENORMOUS FEE, for a lack of service and a wait that extends to at least a hr! more
