I just got married in Carmel and must say that the DJ was the one real sour note in the affair. The venues (the Mission and the Mission Ranch) were beautiful, the food was good, everyone had a blast, but the DJ was awful! Butchering my Indian friend's last name -- okay, that's to be expected (even though we explained the pronunciation to her). But after we had given them an extensive list of our music preferences, I really expected a much MUCH better playlist. Out of the 100 or so songs that we put down on our list, I think she played maybe 3. The 1st dance song, the father-daughter dance song, and maybe one more (can't remember). Everything else was garbage -- '70s disco stuff, '80s cheese, she even played the f***ing Macarena! My gosh! None of that stuff was remotely close to what we'd written down on our list. And to top things off, she wouldn't take any song requests! Not even from my brother (and best man), whom I'd asked to have her play some real stuff. All in all, a terrible service experience. She played what she wanted to play and ignored our wishes -- even when it was clear that no one was dancing to the junk she played.
