AAA Sidewinder Baseball 3/17/2006

I've seen some of the current D-backs play ball here and the talent level is good. The real reason to go here though is the family and fellowship friendly atmosphere. As the sun sets, the temperature cools rapidly with the abundance of grass. Beyond the outfield fence are sloping grassy knolls perfect for the little ones to blow off some steam and stretch their legs. I've never really enjoyed sitting in the bleachers for a baseball game so the general admission seating, if you bring a blanket, is perfect. Take the family. more

Sidewinders Baseball 8/18/2005

If you like baseball, then you must see the Sidewinders Baseball play ball. The tickets are inexpensive enough that you can take the whole a family. Admission is $5, but if you're a senior citizen, a child, or a military member tickets are only $4. We usually order pizza for $19 at the concession stand instead of ordering hotdogs, chicken, or nachos. Taking that route would be too co$tly. Unless you go on Thirsty Thursday (where they have $1 beers), then that could also add up. If you should get there early enough, they have freebies for the first X-amount of spectators... so, essentially, you paid to get in, but you got a souvenir in return. This is a great way to spend a nice evening under the stars with the family. The temperature is still in the 90s at night, but remember, it's dry heat. more

A great way to spend a thursday evening 8/14/2005

Thursday is thirsty Thursday at the sidewinders games. Beer is only $1!! The team is good, the best baseball you'll find in Tucson. A fun place to take the family, go with friends or even a date. Admission is only $5 at the door. Plus, did I mention the $1 beer??? more

Get Bit! 7/16/2005

Sidewinders Baseball (for those of you like me who've lived here awhile, they were the Tucson Toros) is a great place to take your kids and teach them about baseball. There are many special nights where kids can get balls, caps etc... The best part is seeing professional teams during the pre-season. Be sure to find out when those tickets go on sale and load up! Though it's hot in Tucson, the night games are not as bad. There's snack bars and restroom around the part, Batter up! more
