Birgul and Adem Solak, long-time owners of the Shirvan Rug Gallery on Winslow Way. The shop offers restoration, repair, cleaning, sales and purchase of fine handmade rugs.

Adem and Birgul can help advice customers about the size, color, and design of carpets to coordinate with their decor. They will deliver rugs to "try out" so that customers can see how the rugs look and feel in their home before buying.

Shirvan Rug Gallery will cut and install pads to size for rugs that a customer already owns or for any rug that a customer buys.

Owner Adem Solak learned not only the business of selling carpets but also the intricacies of repair and hand reweaving in his native country,Turkey. He is able to make a damaged carpet look almost new again,re-color faded areas,and cut a carpet to size if a customer so desires. Adem and Birgul can provide advice and expert service to repair carpet fringe and to clean carpets safely. They will pick up and deliver carpets to and from a customer's home.
