Good Food, Poor Service 3/16/2012

I have been to this Shallots a few times and I have received inconsistent service. The food is good, not great, but worth trying. Unfortunately, I found the wait staff to be unprofessional with no sense of urgency which can be very irritating. The environment is great and the restaurant has a lot of potential but I can't give it more than 3 stars. more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! 11/29/2010

Since there aren't any decent sushi/thai places near the office, I make the effort to drive here for their fresh tasting sushi. Their pad thai is on point and delicious! I especially love their happy hour, which is great! You can get a variety of food for a minimal amount, allowing you to sample a whole bunch of sushi! more

One of th Better sushi places around town. 12/29/2009

One of the better sushi joints around the local area. I still prefer places like MF Sushi in Buckhead or Midtown, but those are definitely a good drive. I also appreciate the variety if you entertain friends that aren't into raw fish. Pros: Fast service, fresh fish, great saki Cons: Prices more

DEFINITELY WORTH TRYING!!! 12/21/2009

Based on the reviews: I decided to take my Mother here for her B-day lunch. I REALLY loved the restaurant's ambience! Loved the wooded walls/floors/tables/etc. Very ""inviting"" feel to the restaurant! Pros: Ambience, Customer Service, Food Cons: Food is NOT to perfection (but still quite tasty) more

Great Thai food at reasonable prices 11/25/2009

I have been a few times with my wife and we have always been impressed with the food. She always get sushi and I always get Thai, so both are worthy of having. They have a few Thai items on the menu that arent the traditional things you expect to find (the spicy holy basil chicken is great), but the normal Pad Thai type stuff is great. Pros: good food with a few new things to try, prices, parking more

Great food and service 10/20/2009

I've eaten here a number of times with from 2 to 8 people. The service and the food are always excellent. My fiance is addicted to the Wild Jungle Curry! We're going to be regulars! Pros: Service Cons: None so far more

Wonderful Thai food and cozy atmoshere 10/19/2009

I've been coming for years, a very cozy place. I received my own personal chopsticks too! The Thai food is very good I always order the Masaman curry, and they update their menu with new specials pretty often. Pros: Curries and Menu Specials more

Best Happy Hour 10/12/2009

you've got to make it to Shallots between 5-7 pm anyday.Their Happy Hour is fantastic. Starts with Local beer only $2.00 plus get 20% off any entree, but I love $1 sushi-thai menu sheet that just made me a very happy and fully satisfied man last saturday, all under my $10.00 budget. Pros: Best $1sushi, Yummy Drunken Peanut & cheap beer more

love Thai food ( spicy) 10/11/2009

The best option Thai food and sushi I love Pad Thai (noodle) and Tom Kha excellent. I like this place on Holcombridge Road . and I love spicy (Thai chili) Pros: good food, service more

Love Sunday Brunch 10/8/2009

My first time for brunch at Shallots last Sunday and it was so delicious. I had a brunch Bowl special of basil chicken Thai Style for only $5.00 with Thai Iced Coffee 2.50.....what a deal ! The service was very friendly and efficient. The whole place is very clean with a fresh red rose(cut from their front garden) in a cute little bottle ,set on each dining table.... so fresh and comfort. The restaurant was not so busy as yet because of not too many people are aware of ,as informed by our server . For sushi people,They also offer $1 Sushi menu. Pros: very cheap and taste so good more

Great time 10/7/2009

Just decided to try this place last night. Went there with my whole family of four. Everybody loved this place. We tried them both for Sushi and Thai. Excellent. It will be our favorite joint from now. See you ..... Shallots. Pros: Good food, service, price more

Awesome Thai food 10/5/2009

I think Shallots has THE BEST thai in all of Georgia. The only place better is actually going to Thailand itself! Pros: Thai food Thai food Thai food - Fair price Cons: Service gets slow when busy more

Great Thai food, good sushi! 10/4/2009

I almost have pad thai all around town, metro Atlanta and the cities nearby. I would prefer 'Shallots' has the best pad thai in town, especially Pad Thai Low-carb, because it's clear noodle instead of traditional rice noodle, but both is good. Recently, they offered the fabulous four courses meal on Fri and Sat, that it's a very good deal. Either soft shell crab basil, panang curry with salmon, seared scallop with garlic sauce, and seafood green curry fried rice were a terrific choices for just about $15 combined with soup/salad, appitizer, and dessert. I think it just about right that we have a small salad and app, so we're not too full for the tasty main dish, and also complete our diner with the homemade coconut icecream which is awesome. They also offered four courses meal from sushi bar which is a combination of sushi and roll. They said choices are come from most popular items, and bekery roll was great. One more thing, sake is not too pricy and it go great with sushi. :) Pros: Best Pad Thai, especially Pad Thai Low-carb. more

good sushi & thai 10/4/2009

I LOVE THIS PLACE VERY MUCH. EVERYTIME I BEEN TO SHALLOTS I ALWAYS HAVE PADTHAI AND ORDER SOME OF FRESH SUSHI. I WILL GIVE FIVE STARS FOR THE FOOD AND SEVICE. Pros: best thai and sushi more

you'll love this place 9/15/2009

My husband and I love to eat at Shallots for years. Their Unlimited Sushi menu is an excellent choice for sushi lover but if you're crave for Thais, they have the best Pad Thai and I love their homemade coconut icecream.. Too bad the unlimited sushi on Fri.&Sat. night were discontinued but they did offer a new four-course sushi&Thais start from $9.95 and all the selections are fabulous. (They still do offer the Unlimited sushi on Wed.&Thurs. for $19.95) All in all they have good foods and good deal to offer you everyday. more

Friendly People, Tasty Food 9/5/2009

This restaurant has a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food rivals some of the more expensive Thai restaurants in Metro Atlanta. It is definitely the best option for Thai food in the North Fulton County area. Pros: Friendly, quick service Cons: Traffic is a little difficult and the parking lot is tight more

Excellent Sushi Place - specials every night! 3/14/2009

I went to Shallot's on last Sunday evening and I LOVED IT. The service was spectacular, the food was delicious and the price was right ($1 sushi nights are Sunday-Tuesday). To top it all off, they actually have a new Sunday brunch menu so I guarantee that I will be in there again, but earlier next time. I had the miso soup, a couple of pieces of salmon nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, a bakery roll, a volcano roll and I tried the tuna mushi. Everything was delicious. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone and saw them preparing several dishes; what a treat that was. They paid so much attention to detail that everything that they prepared looked like the pictures on the menu. The raw fish is only on a bed of ice briefly when served to keep the dish cold; other than that, it is in a refrigerated section of the bar area while sushi is being made. I'm glad I sat at the bar so that I could see everything and kind of ordered as I saw something that I liked. My main reason for going though was so that I could try some things out so that I could decide whether I would drag my boyfriend out with me so that we could take advantage of the All-You-Can-Eat sushi menu that they offer from Wednesday-Saturday. I didn't even get a chance to try things on the Thai menu because I was so excited about finding a sushi place that I enjoyed. Pros: $1 sushi menu, all-you-can-eat menu Cons: n/a more

Shallots Scores Low 1/6/2009

My wife and I had our 13th anniversary dinner here last night. I have always resisted her attempts to go here in the past because of the location and we have our favorites like Circle Sushi and Sushi Nami. However, I was being very compliant for obvious reasons. The atmosphere was ok, we had a child cry briefly next to us but it was ok, we have kids and understand. I ordered Green Curry and they cooked it to order and replaced the shrimp with squid at my request. The sauce was tasty but the dish seemed fair when it came to the vegetables, the green beans may have been frozen and not fresh. I started with the coconut soup and it was ok, I have had this in quite a few places in the past to know the difference. She ordered the sample boat and it was not very good. I expected this after reading other posts commenting on the sushi before we went and warned she may be unsatisfied prior to ordering. First I asked her how the tuna tasted and she said it was ok but she would have preferred it without the sear on the outside. She did not like her sashimi because all of it tasted the same and seemed to be full of water since it was placed on ice within the boat. I ate one piece of the sashimi and agreed. I of course ate all she could not finish or would not eat. The J.B roll was ok, the California roll was standard. I did like the Bakery Roll which was fried. It's almost impossible in my opinion to ruin anything fried. However, the fried roll had very little taste besides being fried. The service was ok, the sushi was below average and the Thai was between fair and good. The bill was about $62 without tip which I thought was reasonable. We usually spend much more at the other places I mentioned. The sushi is so much better at Circle and Nami we always overeat and run the bill into the $125. range. Pros: Service Cons: Sushi is lack luster. Overall the food is fair. more

WILL DRIVE FAR 1/2/2009

I liked this place so much that I drive from Austell to eat here. I love Thia food and I love sushi even more. When I went the first time it was on a Friday and they had an all you can eat sushi menu. I thought it wouldbe like some kind of buffet at one of those yucko chinese places. Was I wrong??!!!! it was some of the best sushi I had ever had. The ponzu sauce is the best!!! I consider myself to be a sushi snob. I am not your typical California roll person. I love sashimi and I want it to be fresh (who wouldn't)..... theirs was fantastic. I recommend this place to anyone anyday.! more
