Editorial review from Citysearch 8/14/2012

I been going to Senora's since 2000 and I love it. The food hasn't changed that I can tell, it's byob, and the atmosphere is laid back. If you want over-sized portions go to a chain. For 2 people, a chimichanga or fajita (not the dinner platter) and some Cabo Nachos is perfect. Get the dinner if you need more. It's a side of black beans and rice. They are stingy and over-priced on the salsas, and one time the chips were a little stale, but that was one time out of many. Their food has very authentic taste above the chains. Take your time, they won't rush you out. Definitely recommended. more

Senora's Mexican Food West Chester, PA 4/2/2010

When I moved to West Chester, PA back in 2007 my husband took me to Senora's because he had always went there for Mexican with his mom and his family. It was more authentic than I was used to but everything was very fresh you could tell nothing was processed and they have different options for everyone's taste's. As time went on we grew to know all the wait staff and we're always pleased with the quick service and hot food. I personally love their steak fajita wrap it has steak marinated in to die for mexican flavors and alph alpha sprouts( I know it sounds weird) but it actually acented the flavor, bell peppers and guacomole which is also very good. My husband always get's chimichanga's which are always shredded pork and quite good. Their appetizer that's fried shrimp with cream cheese in it is also very tasty my husband dislikes any condiments expecially cream cheese and love's this app. If they see you come in with a bottle of wine they are always ready with a glass for it, the best is they make you feel at home. It's also nice that service is always given with a smile. I think we will continue going here even if we move and when we have children will also bring them there. They have a kids menu and the lady who owns it is very good at helping with the children while you eat. I love Senoras! Pros: quick service, real mexican, always the same Cons: No beer, limited drink options, have to pay for salsa more

Overpriced Mexican Food 1/3/2009

I have been going to Senora's at least twice a year for about 12 years. Each time I go I am angered by the fact that their prices go up and their portions get smaller. While this is to be expected over the course of 12 years, Senora's prices have become exorbitant and neither the delivery of the food, nor the atmosphere justify their pricing. At this point, I will overlook them for other West Chester venues. Some food is served to you in plastic or styrofoam and nothing is complimentary. Extra salsa (which you need because the portions are meager) costs. Pros: Taste Cons: Price, food presentation more

Not a Cheap Eat 3/14/2008

I took my friend here based on the good reviews on this site but I should have listened to the person who gave it a bad rating: the service was good, the food was OK, the prices were alarming. Chips & salsa were not free but it was pretty expensive for the fake cheese and the small amount of salsa they gave (start at $5). My friend asked for more salsa and they didn't inform her that its extra. Since we are college students with a limited budget, we split a shrimp quesadilla (dinner style for $13) and we were disappointed with the size; it was pretty thin and didn't contain much. The prices were pretty expensive for how much you got. The food was good but nothing amazing; didn't make up for the high price. The staff was nice enough and the salsa was fresh, but I don't think I'll be back here for another meal because of the price. Oh and apparently they don't give coin change since our bill was $20.71 and we paid with $25 and got $4 back. Pros: Good salsa, friendly service Cons: Too expensive, small portions more

Best Mexican Food Ever 11/28/2007

I don't live close to West Chester - in fact, I live pretty far away. I live about 30 minutes away and I still manage to go to Senora's at least 3 times a week because I love it. I've never had such fresh and excellent mexican food for such a reasonable price. You can't beat the service either. They're low-staffed, but it's a small and quaint resturant so it's more personal. The staff have all worked there for years and they really know what they are talking about, so they're very hepful. The cooks are all from Mexico, so you can always count on an authentic meal. They have everything - quesadillas, salsas, chips, Mexican sodas and nectars, nachos, wings, chicken fingers, burritos, unique mexican desserts, etc. I especially like all their different salsas because they are unique and homemade. Who's ever heard of pineapple or cucumber? If you're not into that though, they have a wonderful Pico de Gallo and some other additional salsas that you can't find anywhere else. Plus, the salsas are so fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend going here for a unique spin on Mexican food. (But they keep it real and authentic at the same time!) Go Senora's! Pros: Food, Salsas, Atmosphere Cons: Parking isn't too bad but it could be a teeny bit better - yet it's manageable. more

Excellent Mexican 11/28/2007

I started going to Senora's because I moved to West Chester and I wanted a close and good meixcan resturant. I was very pleased with Senora's - I found the service to be extremely good, everyone was nice and informative. There's never a long wait, and the food is made very quickly. Senora's has such a wide variety on their menu so it can please anyone, including younger children not apt to Mexican food. (It's a wonderful family resturant!) I recommend the Quesadillas or any of the burritos. It's no McDonalds - the food is definitely worth the price even though it might be a little pricier, its still affordable. I would definitely go to Senora's if you're looking for great and quick service, wonderful food of a wide variety, and a comfortable family atmosphere. This is definitely great mexican food. Pros: Service, Food, Everything Cons: Nothing more

The worst Mexican restaurant 9/21/2006

My husband and I just moved to the Philly area from the Southern US (where there are numerous Mexican restaurants that are excellent) and have been desperately searching for good Mexican food. This was definitely not it. We also went here based on the reviews and were very disappointed. The food was terrible and everything is extra. I mean a quesadilla that doesn't come with sour cream or guacamole? You can order it but it will cost you. They don't even give complimentary chips and salsa. And when you do order this stuff a la carte you get a tiny little ramekin sized portion. We ordered queso dip and it was barely enough to dip a few chips in. The food was a joke, my shrimp dinner was burnt. My husband's quesadilla was so thin and hardly had any meat in it. The service was mediocre and we couldn't even get margaritas. I wish someone would tell us where to get good sit down (with wait staff - not counter style) authentic Mexican food and margaritas in the suburbs of Philly. Cons: Everything more

one of best mexican restaurants in philly area 1/20/2006

some authentic choices such as mole poblano and tamales. this is no average philly mexican place with ground beef and american cheese. some nice appetizers. would recommend the tamales and some unique offerings (for philly) such as fish tacos and some beef dishes like carne asada. great and easy for a family! Pros: tasty food!, byob option, selection Cons: pay for chips & salsa more

Mexican Food Done Right!! 5/31/2005

Me and my friend dined in and we had an awesome experience. They make homemade salsa and there chips are crisp and fresh. The server was very polite, as he guided me through the menu. The food was delicious from the tamale appetizer to the mole poblano entree. For dessert, their homemade flan was out of this world. Next time, we are thinking about having my birthday party in their new dining area, which seats up to 60 people. Me and my friend had a fabulous time and we will be back again real soon. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Service, Family Atmosphere more

awesome 5/24/2004

Senora's is a great place to dine. The food is always fresh and made to order. And the fresh salsa's are the best that I have ever had. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Senora's is a great place to have a party and it's BYOB too.! Thanks Senora's for being in Chester County. more

Great Mex 5/22/2004

The food here is very good, very fresh, and quite authentic. Ingredients are excellent, and prices very fair. The owner is super-friendly and helpful (she judges the chili contest at our church each year). We're lucky to have such a great place in our area. Pros: Food, Value, Service more

yummy 10/15/2003

The food at Senora's is the best Mexican I have ever had. And I love Mexican food. My server was very polite and went out of his way to take care of his customers. The girls working behing the counter were also most helpful. I especially loved the pico de gallo salsa, which is homeade. I almost died when I tried their tamales. For my entree, I had the baja chimichanga, which was out of this world. Everyone in the restaurant was friendly, and provided a good dining atmosphere. Expect nothing but the best at Senora's Pros: inexpenisve,, friendly people, good atmosphere more

This Place has pulled it off! The renovations are done and they have increased their seating to aloow for private parties up to 60 people in each dinning room.
