For starters, you have to accept Sawgrass for what it is: an outlet mall. The "designer" stores are selling 2nds, ( slightly imperfect items), overproduced, or last years items, or even items made specifically for the outlet malls: a cheaper product, at a cheaper price. You won't find as much attention to detail in the tailoring or finish, for instance, at the tops you'll find at Banana Republic outlet vs. one of their regular stores. This isn't the case in all the stores - there are plenty of overstock and perfectly fine items to be had. You will have to hunt for them, however, and try on a lot of 'almost perfects' before you hit pay dirt. However, with diligence and a positive attitude, there are lots of great deals to be found.
The anchor stores like the Super Target and Bed Bath and Beyond are not one-offs at all, and are massive stores full of great merchandise.
There are lots of spots to grab a bite - the Luxe Cafe is great, unfortunately the Legal Seafoods is gone.
(There is now a year round costume store located where the Legal Seafoods was, which is nice to have in the area.)
The bathrooms do get dirty on weekends, there will be lots of 'teens' (why this is threatening, I"m not sure)....but hey, it's a mall!
Wear comfortable shoes, bring the kids (plenty of fun spots for them like the theatre, Wannadoo city, and Rainforest Cafe)....and dont' get too stressed!
Pros: variety, prices, variety
Cons: huge=lots of walking, often crowded, long walk to car
