Sam's Club

The worst thing about this Sams Club is that it is located right in between WalMart and Hyvee so the traffic is usually pretty bad. The parking lot however, usually has plenty of room, so that's a plus. For $35 you can get a membership which allows you to shop for a year. THe prices seem to be pretty good, though sometimes they are no better than WalMart. I really like Sams for furniture and electronics. They always seem to have the best prices on both, though sometimes the selection is not that great. more

Sams Club is a great place to shop, if you know what to shop for. It is known for great prices on bulk amounts of items, but if you aren't careful, you end up spending more than you would on these items at the grocery store. I've found that the "2-packs" of ketchup, mayo, etc are actually similarly priced to grocery stores as are the large packages of toilet paper and paper towels. If you hit a sale on these at the supermarket, you'll save a lot more than if you buy them at Sams. On the other hand, the huge bottle of condiments, electronics, jewelry, books and furniture are typically great buys here. If you happen to be able to buy a display model of furniture, you will really save a bundle. Besides, shopping at Sams is so fun because you get samples at the end of every aisle! more
