Yummy food but yucky decor and bad service. 12/19/2009

Even though the service is bad the food is good. Pros: Terrific Vietnamese dishes-especially vegetarian. Cons: Dirty, bad service. more

Great food served with concerns 12/18/2006

I went to Saigon Le and I love their shrimp fried rice & their wings. My main concern was I saw a male waiter blowing his nose in his hands and wiped it on his pants. And another person blew her nose on a cloth before she served her table. Other than that I love the food and I don't think they are rude they are just straight to the point people. \r \r I feel they should wash their hands in between serving a table when they have colds/sinus problems. Pros: Great Food Cons: Hygience (Blowing of the nose when serving) more

Good Food + Horrible Attitude = Bad Experience 4/27/2006

My experience isnt very different from the many others who wanted good food but instead got a taste of the poor attitude by the people involved. Even the young guy at the counter was nothing but rude. I've had enough of this nonsense and plan to go elsewhere. Memphis isnt short on good asian eating joints. Saigon Le is just not worth the hype. Pros: Good Food Cons: Bad Service, Bad decor, Bad Attitude more

Good Food, but very poor service 7/19/2003

The food is very good and very authentic, however the owner of the restaurant can be very rude without any apparent reason. If you really like vietnamese beef noodle soup (phe hoa), try the restaurant across the street. They have one of the best beef noodle soup in the country. Pros: Inexpensive, Authentic, Tasty Cons: Rude Owner, Poor Service, Poor Neighbourhood more

Kitschy Environment, Fantastic Food 2/5/2003

Forget the cheap furnishings and gaudy wall adornments. Forget the bossy waitstaff. Above all, forget what you know about fine dining ambience. While not the most beautiful restaurant, Sigon Le still manages to serve up some of the best food in town without any of the pretension...this place is for asian food fanatics. Not only will you get one of the best meals that Memphis has to offer, you will also get one lof the lightest paychecks going, too. Make sure to try the lettuce wrap spring rolls and the vegetable soup, and don't forget to bring your friends so that you can use the lazy susan. more

Great food, horrible service 12/19/2002

As a native Asian Memphian, there are very few Asian restaurants that I would swear by - Saigon Le is one of them. I love the food! However, their service could definitely improve. I have yet to go there and be treated nicely. The waitresses always have a sour look and are not particularly helpful, but the food more than makes up for it. If you're in Memphis, a stop at Saigon Le is a MUST! Pros: inexpensive, delicious, good sized portions Cons: bad service, not too clean more

Best soup in town 10/3/2002

Wonderful noodle soups and spring rolls. Service is prompt but not friendly. The food is so fresh it doesn't matter. more

shut up and enjoy the food 5/23/2002

We go to Saigon Le because the food is always incredible and the people are always good to us. People that complain about it usually are not used to dining in a ""hole in the wall"" kind of place. The waitresses know what we want and serve it hot and delicious. They converse with us about what has been going on since the last time we were there. In fact, the only people I have ever seen them ""rude"" to are those that had the attitude first. If you are expecting a posh atmosphere and fine china, go somewhere else. If you want incredible asian cuisine at a great price, Saigon Le is definitely the place to be. Pros: Great food, Inexpensive, Efficient staff Cons: Busy Busy Lunch times, Limited Parking more
