I have brought my dog Spot here for many years. On one occasion my dog was not well but I had no choice but to board him since I had to go on a business trip. The employees there were great keeping in eye on him frequently making sure his condition didn't worsen. One evening I was worried sick about him while I was away. I called and left a message and an hour later I got a call back AFTER business hours and they gave me a health report on Spot. I will not look anywhere else to board my dog because here you are treated like family. Here you can expect the most personal service. Good people and great family keep up the good work. more

This is hands down the best kennel experience I had. Our dog is cautious around other people so it was always difficult to find a perfect kennel for him. The staff new just what to do and made my dog feel at home. From that moment on I recommend this kennel to everyone I know. They treated him like their own pet. When I returned from vacation our Max was happy and well taken care of. Could not ask for a better experience! more

We have NEVER, EVER met people who love and care for our dog as much as we do until we started taking our dog to Rustic Ridge Kennels. ALL the employees there are VERY, VERY caring and loving. The kennel is very clean and affordable. However, this does not mean that you only get what you pay for. At Rustic Ridge Kennels your dog gets treated better than the more expensive kennels. this is the best kennel I've been too. The owner loves your animals like they are her own. The kennel is always clean and my pet has always had great care there. All the staff is friendly and very helpful whatever you need they will help you with. I always take my dog here for great care. more

I was a big fan of Rustic Ridge in the past, they were a great low cost no frills kennel in the woods with lots of shade for my dogs. The owner was always there when we picked up and dropped off in the years 2005-2008. My dogs were always cared for and came home happy and healthy. more

I have used Rustic Ridge 4 times in the last year. The staff is friendly and I truly believe they take good care of my two dogs. This is a no frills kennel. No fancy play date or plush doggie beds, but clean and comfortable. However, my concern is the feeding. I pack my dogs food in individual bags and I pack just enough for their stay. I always count the bags about 5-6 to check myself. But, every time I pick up my dogs, there are extra bags of food. When I mention this to the staff, they say I must have over packed. I know I didn't over pack. more

I had tried a few other kennels in the area and this by far is the best.beautiful wooded landscape,great prices and easy to access.I tried misty pines and they are morons.My pet needs a shot a day and they have no problem giving it at rustic ridge.I like the outdoor play areas and the knowledgeable staff.i like how it is a family run business and they get to know you and your pets on a personal level.thanks rustic ridge i will be returning and will make sure to reccomend you. I have used Rustic Ridge Kennels for 2 dogs for 6 years and I have only good things to say about them. They have gone above and beyond in caring for my two dogs. As my dogs progressed in age and illness they gave medications and care diligently, hand feeding one of my dogs who wouldn't eat. They could not be more loving and caring. They have also stayed a few minutes late several times for me to pick up or leave off my dogs. My dogs always enjoy staying at Rustic Ridge. Pros: Loving owner & employees, clean facility more

We are booking our dog's fourth stay since we moved to PA a year ago. He is a pure bread and intact male German Shepherd and he comes home happy and well tended. The location is very convenient to our home. We are happy with Rustic Ridge and will continue to take our dog there. more

OpinionThatMayHelpYou - you might of wanted to mention whether or not you left your phone number with the kennel or not... you cannot expect a kennel to stay 1/2 hour late.. i see 10-15 minutes.. but the 1 hour or so checking all doors didn't seem necessary. Pros: Service more

I live in Pittsburgh and had a surprise vacation planned for my boyfriend's birthday in Ohio. I NEVER board our dog, and spent a significant amount of time finding a kennel and hotel in Ohio with lots of special ammenities. The day of the trip, around 3:30 pm, I called the kennel and said, ""I'm pushing time, I just wanted to make sure you closed at 5:00 pm."" The woman replied, ""We actually close at 5:30 pm to make sure the dogs are all settled in."" I told her I was running late, but I was definately coming. I didn't want them to leave early. The woman was understanding and knew who I I was from previous conversations. There was crazy, unexpected traffic on our drive there. Paranoid about time, I called them again at 5:30 pm, and received their voicemail, where it said they were open till 5:30 pm, but currently closed and to leave a message. We have been taking our dogs to kennels for the past 15 years and I have never been so shocked and appalled as I was when I saw the conditions at Rustic Ridge. I went with my sister-in-law the day she picked up her lhasa apso and was horrified when I first got out of the car and saw the kennel manager yelling ""Shut the F*** Up"" to a couple of dogs who were outside. The outdoor areas looked unkept and several of them were just puddles of muddy water from the rain two days before. I was not impressed with the cleanliness or the hospitality of this kennel. My sister-in-law's dog was dirty and very distressed when we picked him up and this wasn't his first time at a kennel. I want to know that when I leave my beloved pets somewhere that they will be treated well and I don't see that happening at Rustic Ridge! I've used Rustic Ridge for over 13 years -- and my current dog, Rusty, (now 11yo) has been there too many times to count (we travel a lot!). When he sees us packing our bags, we mention ""Rustic Ridge"" and he jumps around and wags his tail!! They are very caring (not fancy -- ie: no TV or talks on the phone -- I'm not sure any dog really gets into that!)-- but very clean, well run, and fairly reasonable. He has never returned home ill, with ""cooties"", or underweight (and this is after 30+ stays). I hightly recommend this kennel -- it's Rusty's favorite ""all inclusive"".
