I spent my youth at the Roller Dome and I don't regret it a bit! It probably kept me off the street and a lot of trouble. I'm 57 now and skated there until I was about 19 when I married a girl I met there. Most of the girls I dated as a teen were from there. I went on to skate semi-pro in roller derby and even skated in roller hockey here in the south until I was 47 years old. I got to skate on a team with my son who learned how to skate from me. All from skills I learned at the Dome!
Times change, but I'll tell you, I loved the Dome. We had rules and they were enforced and we had great skating things like Spotlight Couples and Topsy Turvy Trio.
Thanks to the Dome for giving me a great place to go as a young man!! If we had places like that now... the world would be a better place!
