DO NOT GO HERE 2/5/2013

This office is dark, dingy and not well kept up or very kid friendly and THE STAFF IS RUDE AND INCOMPETENT. Recently brought my son for his 8 month vaccinations, when we found out that the records had been mixed up and they weren't sure what he needed or when, and whether he actually had the vaccinations that were recorded, or different ones. This is a grave error, and while they were apologetic they didn't do much to try to fix it. Completely unacceptable and I urge you not to go to this office. more

2 Good Doctors, 1 So-So 6/30/2009

Dr. Rigtrup and Dr. Hung are great doctors. When your child is sick, however, you have to take whoever has availability which in our case has been Dr. Paisner about 95% of the time. Several times he has been condescending or downright rude; at one point when I suspected my daughter had strep (I had it and she was showing the same symptoms) he got annoyed that I was asking her to be tested and only agreed to do so because, as he put it, in rare cases strep can get serious and with HIS luck she'd be one of those if he didn't test her. With HIS luck? I thought my kid was the sick one - and the test is a mere swab of the throat. He acted as though it was all a big inconvenience to him. With his attitude, it got to the point where I would feel uneasy about calling when my children got sick because I was worried that I would have to deal with him - not a good thing when your child is ill. Dr. Rigtrup is fabulous and has told me to trust my instincts - he is a great doctor. Dr. Hung is lovely too. Unfortunately, I can only be sure of getting them when I make well visits, and it is when your child is sick that you most need someone to listen and be reassuring and not a condescending jerk. This is why I left the practice - if HE left I would go back... more

Kids are happy 10/27/2008

My sons have been with Dr. Rigtrup and his collegues since they were born. Now both in college, they drive themselves there, and are saddened by knowing that it will soon be time to leave. Inspired by him, one son wants to be a pediatrician, and calls Dr. Ed his hero. Kind, calming, and always available, the three doctors love kids, and are supportive of their parents. I have always known we would be taken care of as best as possible, but the best part was the boys knew it to. more

Great practice 8/18/2005

This is a great set of doctors. There are 3; 2 male and one female. All have children of their own ranging from college to newborn. They give you full attention and don't rush you out the door to get the next appointment in. They are sympathetic and empathetic and their care comes across. more

take care of your kids 8/15/2005

Montclair pediatrics has been around for over 25 years. Dr. Rigtrup is one of the most personable, caring doctors you'll find anywhere. The bedside manner of Dr. Paisner leaves something to be desired, but he seems to have a good head on his shoulders regarding what's best for the kids. The huge fish tank in the waiting room is ever popular with the kiddies. more
