If you're a cyclist just starting out, this is a great place to "apprentice" and learn some of the basic points about taking care of or fixing your own bicycle. The people who work here are so helpful and take the time to make sure you understand everything - from something so basic as changing a flat tire, to rebuilding a hub. They operate on the principle that if you teach a man to fish, he can eat forever - so if they teach you to fix your bike yourself, you'll be golden.

Yale has so much to offer for everyone. The campus is beautiful, and on a warm spring day you can't help but fall in love with the place. New Haven itself gets a bad rap, but as far as small cities go, it has a great selection of restaurants, bars and cultural activities. It's common sense not to walk on scary dark streets late at night, so as long as you follow that advice, you should do just fine in New Haven.
With the residential college system for the undergraduates, students get the best of both worlds - a great research institution, and the personal attention of a small college.

This local art store is always where I went growing up to get whatever I needed for school projects. Though it's a small store, they have a good supply. They tend to slightly overcharge over large chains, but that's to be expected. One lady who owns the store tends to work there most of the time as well, and she's very helpful in helping people find things and making suggestions. Plus she has the LONGEST hair, but it just adds to the character of the place.

For a small outdoor store, they have a good selection. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Though I like to support local businesses such as this one, I do find myself paying more, but sometimes the personal service can be worth it. Located on Church St. in the south part of town, its the only outdoor store in Montclair unless you want to hop on a highway somewhere.

Book trader has some great outside seating where it's nice to sit, sip on some coffee and read. I usually go there when I'm looking for a coffee house atmosphere, and I've never actually shopped for books while I've been there, but I've met friends for coffee (which isn't great) or enjoyed one of the eclectic sandwiches offered in the cafe. Overall it's just another option for a coffee place in New Haven, and one that isn't a place just to be see like Koffee2.

This is the best pizza you're going to find anywhere in Boston. Thin crusted with a ton of gourmet toppings option, I have trouble eating pizza from anywhere else. A small pie is enough for two people, and a large for four. Their salads are decent, but nothing to write home to mom about. They've just started having beer on tap, so it's great to go for pizza and a beer on a Friday night. They also now deliver, but if you live outside of Brookline (even one block, like I do!) expect to pay an extra delivery surcharge, but its well worth it!

part of the reason that cutlers is so good is because as far as music goes, there aren't many other options in New Haven. However, I always used to look forward to walking by the store and listening to whatever was playing over their outdoor speakers. They also always had a dry erase board outside with the upcoming music, which gave me something to look forward to (and probably helped sales on new release Tuesday!). Their selection was good overall, and I always seemed to find what I was looking for.

This new health club may be a welcome addition to some. With few health clubs within the actual town of Montclair, it's central location in Watchung Plaza is a plus. However, due to the fact that its in the middle of a shopping district, there is very little parking. Once inside the place is clean, and well lit, but during peak hours it can be difficult to get on a cardiovascular machine.

That being said they have so many kinds that if you're looking for something particular, they probably have it here. They have a number of classes to help you learn and get started with lots of crafts and projects.
