Very bad experience and no A/C 6/6/2011

I went to this place on this sunday afternoon (06/05/2011) with my friend. I ordered a veg thali ( vegetarian platter) and my friend ordered kabab tikka chicken. The chicken wasn't cooked properly and it seemed raw. We informed the staff and they gave us a return. However the biggest problem on this hot sunday afternoon was that the A/C wasn't working and i began to sweat profusely, the whole experience was so frustrating because one of the curries on the menu was spicy. I think the people here don't take care of their customers. more

Pretty good Indian - Rice N Roll 7/11/2006

I've been hitting this place for the last year, and it has stayed consistent. I almost always get the goad kadai, a kind of goat stir fry in the indian version of a wok. It is pretty spicy, and usually tender, although sometimes a few pieces or so can be chewy, but not much. Their chicken curry tasted strange to me, and the Chicken Tika masala is way too rich, even for most americans I would guess. Great fresh naan, and they recently added somosas as well. Actually some of the best samosas I've had, and non-greasy, as well!! more

Cheating... 5/26/2006

I ordered food for my son's birthday in this restaurant, the owner quoted a rate for the quantity of food I ordered and later, an hour before the party starts, I went to pick up the food, at the time of pick up he raised the rate two times more than he quoted...at that, last minute we did't really had any other arrangement for food and we just bought it for that very high rate...hope this post will be useful for others to be aware of this restaurant people! we are not going there anymore. more

Very BAD experience 1/6/2006

We liked the food at this restuarant. We thought we would order food for my son's birthday party from them. I spoke to the owner of this restuarant, Mr. Upendra and he agreed to cater and we agreed on a price. Only thing he said he would think of let us know is about the quantity of dessert. Then he had his employee call us back and raised the agreed upon price by 2 dollars, two days before the party(at 9:30 pm that just makes it one day before the party). I am not sure if he had genuinely thought that was a reasonable price or was just expoiting at the last minute as the price he came back with is higher than the prevailing market rate for a menu with more items. Luckily we could get somebody else do it on such a short notice. I am really frustrated by this experience and I would never order from them even if he gives it for free, for I don't know if he is going to stand by his words. Just wanted to put this out, not to vent my anger but in the hopes that it may help others. more

Great Indian "quick" food in Irving 12/17/2005

This place has both Indian and Chinese "quick" food -Not fast food. Very affordable. This is a place where you order you food as you enter and then sit down and it is served rather qucikly. Nothing fancy but some dishes are very authentic Indian. I love the Paneer Tikka masala and the Gobi manchuria. IF you like spicy food ask the Gobi or chicken manchuira to be prepared "extra spicy". Its hot !! and makes great appetizer or finger food. The Naan (India Bread) is made hot and fresh. Hmmmm... the aroma as you enter will make you hungry. more

Wow, nice place to eat! 8/18/2005

I have been to rice n rolls 3 times now. It is a good restaurant with lots of indian and chinese items. You should go there atleast 30 times to try out all their menu items. huge selection of indian food and a veriety of chinese selections. Food quality is best and the service is also good. Only issu I see is the rush during weekends. It is quite natural when somebody serve good food, people will get in to queue to get the food. Overall I would recommend this place for indian and chinese food. more
