Great for our needs 12/2/2011

We were referred to this office by our pediatrician for my daughter to get allergy testing. She was 1 1/2 at the time (Sept 2011). We met with dr Altamirano, he was extremely personable, thorough, and understanding. My daughter loved him and didn't cry like her usual (and many) Dr. Appoinmtments when she is sick. Dr. Altamirano was very nice, gentle, and sweet to her. \r \r We didn't have to do the allergy testing after all. With his exam and a thorough look at symptoms/history he determined she has mild asthma. Put on us a daily dose of singulair and she has been amazing since! After taking meds for 3 months, she's just now having her first flare up. I called the office to ask them a few questions, and they transferred me right to Dr. Altamirano. I've never called a doctors office and was actually able to talk straight to the doctor! \r \r I recommend this office. For asthma, they treated my daughter perfectly and catered to her needs. She was comfortable and easy going in a doctor environment - not usual for a toddler!! They definitly have our recommendation. more

should have taken the prior review seriously 3/16/2011

I'm not inclined typically to take the time to write reviews but really felt I had to. I have called my Dr.'s office even and gave them feedback so that they might refrain from referring this office. I had read the prior review entitled Beware, before I went but thought I would go and 'judge' based on my own experience. It was not any different, in fact the test came back saying I did not have any allergies and the Dr was stumped. He went to his computer and searched while I was there at his desk. I thought he was searching through his medical resources but low and behold he printed me some information he pulled from Google. I was stunned and shocked. I know nothing more than when I went in, and obviously know nothing more than what I couldn't have researched myself. Then, while the staff was nice in person at the appointment, when I later called for a statement or bill to get reimbursed by my secondary insurance they became combative and clearly put out by my request. more

Beware 10/22/2009

I took my daughter to him a couple of years ago for a checkup of her multiple severe food allergies. The staff seemed rushed and undereducated. Their ""testing"" showed that my daughter's extremely severe peanut allergy was gone, when only a number of months earlier it was tested (at a different clinic) as very very severe. The doctor did not seem to find this as strange and recommended that we go home and immediately begin feeding her peanut butter. I demanded to have the skin test redone. He reluctantly agreed. The skin test was again performed, this time resulting in a large hive. He seemed shocked that his staff had messed up the test. If we had taken his advice, it could have resulted in my daughter's death. I would have given no stars if it were an option. He was very unprofessional. I felt that I new more about food allergies than he did. Find someone else. more
