Preserving Memories

Tucked away in a strip mall, this scrapbooking store is bland and non-descript. However, that being said, it has a good collection of scrapbooking supplies -- many of which I have never seen before. The staff was very friendly, and there's a large scrapbooking area at the back of the store. You can find beads and stones here, too. more

My wife and me went into this store together about a week ago. Let me start off by saying this is a good idea to have a store dedicated to scrap books but the service is somewhat spotty. We went in and the store was dead, but could not get the clerk to get off the phone to talk to us. I would not recommend going to this store based upon this incident. more

If I could write a two-word review about Preserving Memories, it would be “don’t bother.” How this store managed to be the only one in the Baltimore area to open up a second branch just boggles my mind. Their flagship store in Glen Burnie (accessible from the Baltimore beltway just off Ritchie Highway in the K-Mart shopping center) is small with a very poor selection of supplies, none of which are well displayed. They arrange supplies by theme, which some people like but I find limiting, and the owner seems to like the older (older meaning maybe six or seven years old in this case) style of scrapbooking—stickers and die cuts, cutesy things and shape templates--very little to inspire someone trying to be creative in her scrapbooking. But worst of all is the store’s owner, who I saw being brusque to the point of rudeness with several customers. It seemed to me that she opened the store to support her own hobby and doesn’t care much about what her customers want or need. With so many other scrapbook stores in the area, just skip this one and go somewhere else! more
