5 Star Excellence 1/17/2017

We were in need of a new furnace. Checked with 3 companies. Poudre Valley Air won our business with the cheapest estimate (all companies were using the same furnace). Their honest, on time, friendly, professional service was a breath of fresh air. Poudre Valley Air and their employees rock! I will be using them for all my HVAC needs and highly recommend them. poor follow up 8/22/2016

Poudre Valley Air is unable to stand by the warranty that came with our air conditioner compressor. One month after install we had to call for problems with the compressor and we were incredibly disappointed that the service was not covered by the warranty. Three customer service agents were not able to explain the charges to me. With previous projects we have been pleased, but I would never recommend a company who is unable to support their written warranty. RESPONSE FROM Poudre Valley Air: I'm sorry for any confusion here. We replaced the outdoor unit only. When we showed up for the service call it turned out being the thermostat that was the issue. This isn't even a thermostat we supply or sell. I'm sorry but I can't warranty a part that wasn't something we supplied or installed. Once again, I'm sorry for any confusion and I hope you understand. Thank you. more

Only interested in your money and they do not take care of return customers 6/9/2015

Would not recommend doing business with this company. Was desperate to have our AC unit repaired so I picked the 1st company that could get someone out ASAP. Was not a smart decision on my part but I tend to trust people too much and figured I wouldn't get ripped off. Was taken back by the $70 diagnostic fee but figured, hey, they have to get paid too. Less than 1 week later I call because we are not getting any air flow to the upstairs bedrooms and figured since I was already a customer, and had someone already out less than a week ago, that they would work with us and not charge us another $70 diagnostic fee. I was wrong. Poor business that is only interested in getting your $. They say that they want 100% satisfaction. Well, I am far from satisfied and will take my money elsewhere. Very disappointed that they don't care to take care of their return customers more

Salesmen Don't Tell the Truth 8/28/2014

Be careful what you agree to with this company. Their salesman misrepresented the contract. As a result we were charged and extra $653.12 by their partner Wells Fargo Financial National Bank. Neither company will make this right. Buy an air conditioner from an honest company--not this one. RESPONSE FROM Poudre Valley Air: In response to your complaint I am very sorry that this has gone to this point or for any misunderstanding. All our sales staff are very well versed in the financing process and protocols. It is part of their process to relay these terms at the time of sale. The terms of the loan are also clearly stated on the Wells Fargo contract that was signed by you. As far as I know, any interest free term loan always charges interest if the payment agreement is not met in the loan term as this is common practice. Unfortunately at this point, because the loan terms were not met, there is nothing we or the bank can do. Thank you for your time in this matter and once again, our apologies for any misunderstanding. more

Very good 7/8/2014

They removed and replaced my furnace and installed a new A/C unit. Was a big project for which they should have had another helper. They worked from 9am to after 11pm. They did a very good job but it was getting late and they couldn't come back the next day because they had another install scheduled. Felt sorry for them. Very conscientious and professional though. more

Former long time customer 4/4/2014

After years of bieng a customer they lost myself & my family & friends. They installed a new furnace but there were issues with noise that wasn't there beforehand, I contacted them & was told I wouldn't be charged to fix it as it was thier fault, few days later I recieved a bill for 391.87 I contacted them & was told I misunderstood. I'll never use nor recomend. more

I have been a PVA customer for several years. My last experience with Poudre Valley Air was less than acceptable. I felt that I was taken advantage of by both the service tech and the service manager. I was told that I needed a new control board for my eight year old furnace. On line through the Lenox dealer I found the part for $165. Poudre Valley Air charged me $510 for the part. I asked the service manager about the mark-up and he replied that it was expensive to have a service guy on the road, ready to help customers. I then asked him if the $67 diagnostic fee might absorb those costs or if maybe the $238 dollar service agreement might absorb those costs? He said that it was all part of doing business. I saved the part and will be having it checked at a Lenox dealer to troubleshoot the problem and also find out my warranty coverage. I think there is something to be said about good customer service. I hung up the phone feeling that I had been taken advantage of all over again by the service manager. I cancelled my service agreement and still walked away with a $577.50 bill... Poudre Valley Air is excellent. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Over the summer, we got a new air conditioner and their customer service and pricing were so good, we called them again when the furnace went out and had them replace that. I live in Greeley so I checked Angie's List for places in Greeley to check out for the air conditioner but I didn't want to use anything here so I called Poudre. more

Poudre Valley Air does all of our service and have for thirty gour years. They put in a new A/C unit, a heat pump, and everything has a good, clean look. They come on time and all they're people are just good people. more

I had Poudre Valley Air out to repair my furnace. From the person who answered the phone to the person who scheduled the service call to the two different technicians that came out--everyone was so polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. I had used them one other time. These guys are honest and knowledgeable. They are the best to work with in town. more

I am thrilled with the gentleman who did the work. I have been with Poudre Valley Air for years. That's why I continue to stay with them. I lost my husband, so I'm a woman alone. The service they provide is absolutely incredible to me. The fact that he took the entire day to find the part that was missing on my furnace and that I did not have to replace my furnace goes above and beyond. He was wonderful. He was here for six to eight hours--a long time. He just did a beautiful job. Number one, they are totally dependable and they are totally reliant on the cost. They're in business to service their customers. That is very, very important and they do a wonderful job at it. more

Not what I expect from their literature and the owner's comments 10/21/2013

Poudre Valley Air has done by-yearly heating and A/C check ups. My biggest frustration has been that even though I pay extra to have them when I need them, it takes them two weeks to come out when I call. I've talked to the owner about it before and nothing's happened yet. more

Poudre Valley Air installed the a/c and a humidifier on the furnace. I have a service contract with them, so they come out during the fall to check the furnace, and then they come in the spring to check the a/c. The workers who come over are very patient, good listeners, and do great work. I'm hooked on Poudre Calley Air. They've treated me very well. more

Ok PVAir made good on their no show but ONLY after I called them in the morning. Clearly this got dropped and I understand they are human. So they came out today, examined the A/C unit. The tech said it sounded like a bad capacitor. I asked the price of this capacitor (I'm an electrical engineer by trade and profession). The tech quoted me $312.00. Plus the $75 for the service call. So the total call was $487.00. Outrageous but unfortunately I am in a bind having to travel soon and no time to do the repair myself or seek another vendor. So reluctantly I told him to do the install. After it was said and done, the money paid, my wallet MUCH thinner I have a working A/C unit which will make the family happy when I have to leave next. I checked for the EXACT part that was installed and found it online for $59.59. See: http://www.amazon.com/Turbo-200-Motor-RUN-Capacitor/dp/B007IKYT1G As just one example. There are numerous sources. I hate to say it PVAir you've just lost a customer because of your MASSIVE over pricing for such an item. I would have gladly paid $125 (over 50% profit) and been happily ready to engage your services in the future. But gouging me for $312 for a $60 part sets you in the light of a scam artist. I won't be calling you back and I will update my review on Angie's list to match this one. Charge customers a reasonable amount and you'd have loyal customer base ready to call you back for repeated business. more

No show 8/20/2013

Called PVA around noon. Was surprised to hear they could have someone out the same day. Dispatcher said it would be around 5 and was clear to say office closes at 5 but tech will call. Received another call around 4. Lady informed me office would be closed but a tech WILL be there after 5. 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm - gave up... No one showed, no call. Nothing. I would much rather a company tell me that they cannot appear until such and such a day than to promise a same day appointment they cannot keep and do not call about. RESPONSE FROM Poudre Valley Air: We are very sorry. This was a mistake made on our part at the end of the day. We took care of this mistake the very next morning. We will be double-checking our after office hours service calls before we are sending them out in order to ensure we are sending out the correct ones! We are human and do make mistakes. Again, we apologize, and we hope that this issue has been resolved. more

I would have no hesitation in recommending Poudre Valley Air. They have installed two furnaces for me as well as checking on a draft and they installed a water heater. The service was excellent- they showed up on time and had no problem with them whatsoever in all 3 projects I used them for. more

I've known Poudre Valley Air for a long time. They take care of my furnace and the brand new AC that was just put in. The guys kept to their business and knew what they were doing. I'm pretty critical about things like this, having been in management for a long time, and I thought they did a fantastic job. They were all nice young people and they've done me well. more

Good to work with, but had to have them out a second time. 8/27/2012

They were very good to work with. My only hesitancy in using Poudre Valley Air was that they were not able to detect a problem the first time, so we had to hire them to come out again. The first time they came out was to repair the outside AC unit. When they did that, they also checked the furnace inside. Then, a couple weeks later, the furnace had problems, and we had to have them come out again. Both times, they came out, were very helpful, and fixed problems. We just had to have them out twice, and it cost us double. more
