Horrible experience! Lied about procedures and completely disrespected my oral care decisions. During my appointment, Plum Drive Dental suddenly added a requirement for new x-rays to extort more money. I could have obtained (current) X-rays from my previous Dentist, had Plum Drive Dental mentioned that they wanted them any time in the 1.5 months before they could work in an appointment for me.
My wishes were disregarded and both the Dentist and Assistants were not forth right with me. They did not explain how many X-rays they planned to take. They made it sound as though only 2 would be required, then proceeded to take 18 X-rays. I tried to decline the X-rays, but was told that my teeth would not be cleaned unless I submitted to having new X-rays taken. Furthermore, the assistant said that X-rays were fully covered by my insurance, but that was not true, as my insurance only covered a percentage. She also neglected to mentioned the deductible. There's no reason to take X-rays for a general teeth cleaning.
I am very disappointed by Plum Drive Dental's bully tactics to extort a higher profit through dishonesty and disregard of patient oral care decisions. Avoid these crooks and find a Dentist that respects you.
Note: I reached out Plum Drive Dental through several phone calls and a written letter, but they completely refused to address my concerns or make things right.
Plum Drive Dental billed me for the percentage that my insurance didn't cover for the (un-necessary) X-rays. I initially refused to pay, but eventually settled on paying a reduced bill for them to stop hounding me; but I don't feel that I should have had to pay anything, since I didn't want or need the X-rays.
