This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. They specialize in Petros, a dish invited during the 1982 World's Fair. (By most accounts, it's considered the best thing to come out of the 1982 World's Fair.) the petro is a cross between a taco salad and loaded nachos.
A bowl is filled with fritos corn chips, topped by your choice of chili (vegetarian, spicy, etc.), then toppings of your choice including sour cream, cheese, black olives, salsa, green onions, etc. It's delicious. The chili is great and the toppings are always fresh, which makes a big difference. The restaurant also serves a few other things, like salads and maybe baked potatoes. You can also get cucumbers on the side as a side dish.
Many people are fond of the orange tea served. I'm not a fan of this, but I'll take a large petro anytime. The places can be a little crowded at lunch time and dining space is limited. Plan on spending about $6 or so person. Lunch and supper prices are the same. A kid's meal is also on the menu. Service at this location is pretty quick.
Enjoy...but make sure you've got some rolaids handy. Don't worry, it's worth it!
