I found the items I was looking for were way over priced. So much so that you could save enough money and buy gas and drive to ?California Army Navy Surplus? just down the road. Case in point. Army style canteen, Pete?s +$6.00. Cal?s price is $2.49 for the same item. Now say you want a 30cal. Ammo can. Pete?s has them for about $18.00, and you can grab one at Cal?s for $6.00. How about an ?Esbit pocket stove w/ 12 trioxane tabs. To get out of the door with this item will cost you in the neighborhood of $14.00, and at Cal?s was $12.00. Last #550 paracord, 50ft was a little over $8.00, compare that to Cal?s price 100ft at $7.99. I stopped by to see what they had and to be nice I bought the #55 paracord in a 50ft bundle. The sales clerk did not want to take my credit card and had to call the owner from out back to authorize the purchase because it was under $10.00 and she said that I was not buying enough to justify her making any money. But an interesting store, part hardware and part military surplus, and some hard to find items. All items were organized and clean. Parking lot newly graveled and looked nice, but cramped when parking and driving through. Would I go shopping there again, ?NO?, I?ll keep my money in my own pocket. The way I see it is you can sell a lot at a lower price or one item at a higher price and make the same amount of money. High prices makes the consumer suffer and never return.
