Excellent Office 3/12/2017

I am really surprised to read these reviews. We waited for a while to get Dr. Lawrence as my son's doctor. He is awesome. In fact, they all are. We have had to schedule in at the last minute and they were more than accommodating. The staff is always very friendly. But most of all, my son is comfortable with everyone there, which is the most important thing of all. I do always forget that the co-pay is cash only so that gets us sometimes! LOL But otherwise, pleasant experiences all the way around. more

Unprofessional Office Manager - Sandra 5/22/2014

My husband got upset when the receptionist said they cannot promise to see a sick child pending the daily scheduled appointments. I understand that a clinic cannot promise this but at the time, our child was extremely sick and he got a bit upset. Very true that it was wrong on his part at the time. When dealing with a very sick child, a parent is not necessarily in the right state of mind. Two months later when he tried to make the appointment, the receptionist started to take the info down and then the office manager got on the phone stating that they are not taking new patients, which is a lie since I just called to confirm they are taking new patients. The office manager would rather hold a personal grudge than to welcome a potentially lifetime patient. more

Awesome Doctors--- but..... 2/5/2010

My kids went to Dr. Rob for 5 yrs and we loved him... BUT, his staff seemed to be all about "making money"... you couldn't be seen for adhd ck up and well check on "same day" they forced two appts to make more money. they over charged me once based on what they claimed insurance wouldn't cover and I received a refund ck a year later... then "under charged" me once without my knowledge and demanded the money at my next appt without ever INFORMING me of the discrepancy. The PHONE is BUSY sometimes for hours and hours. On only TWO instances in FIVE years I had to cxl appts and couldn't get through to do so until 30 minutes or so before appt time... the RUDE receptionist scolded ME for calling so late and said, "you WILL be counted as a NO SHOW!" this is when I finally switched doctors. Too bad great doctors have such horrible staff and office practices. The nurses are GREAT and some of the staff is great too... but a few staff members ruin the entire experience for you and your child. more

Friendly Pediatric doctors 7/21/2005

We asked around when we moved to Slidell to find a good pediatrician for our two children. Dr Rob Oertling was recommended over and over again, so that is who we chose. He is in a firm called Pearl Acres Pediatrics with 3 other doctors, including his wife. We really like Dr. Rob (as we call him). He is very friendly to my children. He doesn't medicate right away. He always allows lots of time to ask questions. I never feel like he is rushing to get out. Well-baby appointments must be made at least one week in advance, so they can leave enough free spaces for sick children. They try to schedule well-baby visits early in the morning to avoid the sick children later in the day. I like that. However, for my baby's 6-month checkup, it took 3 weeks to get an appointment. That is a little crazy in my opinion. However, one reason is that my doctor would be on vacation for one of the weeks. My only complaint is that there are so many patients at this office. Twice, the nurse didn't get back to me until the next day when I called with a concern about my child. Also, there is no separate room for sick children versus well children. While I don't really care for the nursing staff, we love Dr Rob. We are willing to put up with the hard-to-schedule appointments because we like him as a doctor so much. When my child is sick, it isn't hard to get an appointment right away. more
