A casual fan and kid friendly alternative to Fenway! 3/21/2006

Everyone knows how intense Fenway can get. McCoy Stadium is the opposite of Fenway in that regard. It is a great place to go and watch baseball in a more relaxed environment. You can get in for a very reasonable price and you won't really see people start yelling about the team's rival or at the fans of the team's rival (actions which do have a time and a place, but the time and place are just not McCoy Stadium). The inexpensive prices make this a GREAT idea for a family outing, especially if you have a couple or more young children, or if the family's enthusiasm about the game doesn't warrent the crazy price of a Fenway ticket. Given all that, nothing compares to Fenway, but this is an alternative! more

A wonderful place to see a ball game 12/7/2005

I've never been much of a baseball fan, but a recent excursion to McCoy Stadium to see the PawSox almost changed that. I still wouldn't bother to turn the TV on to watch a game, but I would definitely go back to this friendly little stadium to see the PawSox again. The parking is free, the seats are inexpensive, and you can really be close to the field and see the players in action. I highly recommend a visit for anyone who likes baseball or is even open to going to a game for the first time. more

a grea night out! 9/7/2005

McCoy Stadium is a GREAT place to go see a minor league baseball game. The seats are very reasonably priced, there's free parking for all, and the stadium has such a friendly feel to it. You get to see great players that are on their way to the Boston Red Sox. The players are a lot more relaxed at McCoy Stadium and will often sign autographs for the fans there. It's a great alternative to the high priced games in Boston. more

A great day at the ballpark 8/1/2005

The Pawtucket Red Sox stadium, home of the longest game in baseball, is a cute little stadium in Pawtucket. Although it is not in a wonderful area (right near a bunch of factories and other industrial warehouses) it makes for a great day for the whole family. Tickets are cheap, $6 for general admission, although food gets a little pricey. Parking is free and plentiful. There are many promotions throughout the season (I won free tickets at my last game) and plenty of opportunities to get the fans involved. Not to mention that the Pawsox are a great team! more
