Patterson's Flower Shop

I knew of Patterson's Flowers working at UVa, and I met with Mr. Patterson in the summer of 2009 for a quote on wedding flowers (wedding was 6/19/10). A couple of months later, I spoke with Ken, who took over the shop and renamed the store "Couture Design." I had always heard great things about Mr. Patterson, but I loved working with Ken. He was easy to talk to and has a lot of great ideas and creativity. I brought in several pictures of flower arrangements, bouquets and my wedding dress and he came up with outstanding floral arrangements. I loved my bouquet, and I had several guests at my reception come up to me complimenting the flower arrangements on the tables. Some of my guests went as far to say they were the best wedding floral arrangements they had ever seen. Besides having a creative eye and many years of experience, Ken delivered my flowers in person and made sure everyone who needed a corsage or bouquet was taken care of. During what can be for most brides a pretty stressful time, Ken was very professional and accommodating. Customer service is really important when looking for wedding vendors, because there is so much on your mind during the wedding weekend and I never once had to worry about Ken, he took care of everything. Good: NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Bad: The flowers were delivered a day late. The rose buds looked as if they were frostbitten or frozen. IThe entire arrangement looked as if it had been left in the delivery van overnight in freezing temperatures. When I spoke with the "manager", he was very abrupt and verbally abusive, going as far as calling me a liar, than hanging up on me!!! This shop was sold to the present owner. Previously, Patterson's had good service and nice flowers. Now, they have neither.. Improvements: Would like to see the previous owners buy it back.. Other: I would not recommend this business to anyone. I have never been spoken to in this manner in my life.. more

We used this florist as our wedding florist. The communication and flexibility of the employees was awesome. The florist was willing to meet with us during off hours since my mother was from out of town. The selection of flowers and knowledge of the florist was unbelievable. I felt like I got a good deal for my money. The finished product was beautiful and delivered on time. more
