Two awful experiences 9/22/2011

I've had two deplorable visits to this place. At the first one a couple years back, we had to wait for hours before the doctor finally saw us and told us he was not able to put stitches in my son's lip. They still charged our insurance and kept the $75 copay we paid. More recently, my son got a big gash in his knee which required stitches so I went there again as it is the closest urgent care center. No one greeted us, I was left to fumble with the self check in screen where I read that if the patient is bleeding, I should contact the receptionist. Both the receptionists were ""busy"" helping two other people, so I had to wait by the window. As I waited... and waited... it became clear to me that both receptionists were working on the same patient and her mother who was there for a school sports physical. I finally got someone's attention, and eventually someone else came out with a handful of gauze for us. She could tell me nothing except they were very busy, and hightailed it out of there. I thought this was a place for urgent care, where I would expect something like a bleeding gash to take priority over a routine physical. I would not go here again. more

Excessive fees 8/24/2011

My daughter was really sick with bronchitis and has no insurance and no money,so I told her I would help if she went to the doctor.I took her to patient first since it was to late to go to a REAL doctor. Dr. Rahman saw her and wanted to do a chest X-ray. He said it would cost about $100. But he would waive some of his fee to offset the cost of the x-ray and it would total about $200.She told him she didn't have $200. and not to do the X-ray. He was in with her about 5 mins. Looked at her throat and listened to her chest. When we went to pay he had charged her $217.I've never heard of any doctor charge that much in my life.Especially when he was told she didn't have it. Must be nice to make $200. In 5 mins. and take advantage of people with no money. A regular family doctor is much cheaper and more caring. more

Patient last? 5/1/2011

Wow what a lousy place to go if you are sick. Human compassion and kindness is a cornerstone of the health profession. Not here. When you walk in no one says hello or greets you (even when personnel is present). The nurse who called my name was an unfriendly jerk. Acted like she hated her job and her patients. The director Dr. Walton is the worst of all. He is arrogant and uninterested in the patients needs. He sets the example so you can guess the rest of the story. Lousy place to go for humane treatment. Typifies the new American health care attitude. Patient first???? no Patient Last!!!!!!! more

Horrible experience! 1/24/2011

I sustained an injury yesterday morning. I made it to Patient First because I didn't want to sit in an emergency room for twelve hours. Since mine was a back and neck injury, that would have easily been the case. However, even though I have Anthem BC/BS, I was told I needed to hand over some cash for my deductible. I had no cash on me, whatsoever, as I hadn't intended to be in an accident, yesterday. The ""caring"" folks at this facility showed me to the door and escorted me out! There was not one bit of concern for the patient...only whether I had cash on hand.\r \r Don't bother with this place. They've let it be widely known what their first priority is. more
