Best

Palace of Asia is good place to have family Dinner. Food is excellent! Service is good. My Family favorites include Chicken Tikka Masala (very flavorful)and Chicken Korma. Great.....

Worst

I never paid so much money to have myself, my family and my guests insulted and treated so poorly. The service at this place was TERRIBLE and the manager was extremely rude and wa...

New owner/management, Better food, Better service 5/8/2007

I have always enjoyed Indian cuisine. I have been to the restaurant many times. However, I have not been to the restaurant in over a year because I felt the quality of food and service was lacking. When I heard the restaurant was under new ownership/management I thought I would give the restaurant another try. I am happy I did. The service was great and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere was great. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves. I encourage those of you who were disappointed in the past to give them another try. Pros: Great service more

Excellent Malai Kabob and Bindi 5/5/2007

Those were just two favorites among many. I have been an Indain food lover for a few years now, and Palace of Asia has become my favorite spot to satisfy my cravings. The first time I walked in I was amazed at the beauty of the place. Most other Indain restaurants I have visited had very little imagination with the decor. The menu is very extensive...a little surprised to see beef curry! Our service was very good even though the restaurant was very busy. Every time I go back I try something different and have never been disappointed. Pros: Ambience, attentive service more

Suburban Mediocrity Meets Indian 3/9/2007

Wanted to love it but just couldn't because the food isn't that good. Suburbanites love it because they have no idea what good Indian tastes like. Pros: Close to NW Philadelphia and Burbs Cons: The Food more

Luxurious, Elegant, and Sumptuous! 1/29/2007

The first thing that strikes you about this place is the elegance: fountain at the door, marbled entrance, cozy fireplace in the dining room, dim romantic lighting. You can get lost in the details of this place. It is a place to really go out and enjoy the luxury of the place. We had a gorgeous night having dinner at this place. Pros: Luxury Indian Cusine- pure gourmet, Elegant Place and Crowds Cons: Is very popular, always filled.. if you like quieter locations with the same cuisine, try their other branches (ie. Cherry Hill , Delaware) more

Amazing Exotic Indian Cuisine 11/19/2006

This was truely one of the best dining experiences ever! The food was beyond fabulous, the ambiance was amazing, and the service was good. Although we did have to wait a little bit to be seated once we got to our seats the experience was good. I suggest trying the Chicken Tikka Masala and some desert. Definitly a place you wouldn't want your taste buds to miss out on! Pros: Ambiance, Food Cons: A bit busy at times more

Palace of Asia boasts great food and atmosphere 1/23/2006

I went to Palace of Asia on a thursday evening and came out extremely satisfied although my wallet was a little lighter. Great food and atmosphere but a dinner for four ran us about 100 dollars. If you can afford this i would certainly recommend trying it out. In terms of service, the waiter was pleasant and attentive but was difficult to understand at times. Pros: Quality of Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Price of Food more

Not worth the time 11/17/2005

The wait staff is poor. The owner is UN appreciative and believes his business is solid so he no longer needs to service his customer. I was charged for an ice tea then I asked to switch to coke and they charged me for that too. My colleague and I were working and enjoying some drinks. I told the waiter my intentions when I entered the restaurant and they charged me a 5 sitting fee. They never told me about this fee they just surprised me with it on my bill. When I complained the owner said well take your business somewhere else. Total apathy. Cons: Owner is apathitic more

Excellent in everything 10/4/2005

I had a great exeperience at Palace of Asia. There is a decent sized menu with a nice variety of choice for anyone who likes to try good Indian Food! There is also a nice variety of wines and I am pleased to report that the level of service we received was excellent. If you like to head to a indian restaurant then give this one a try, I particularly like their Lunch buffet that is served 7 days a week. Ignore the haters and try this place out! You won't regret it more

Bad for own people, good for others 8/22/2005

I had Sunday Lunch buffet - food was good but some items were bad - aloo in Samosas and Tikki had gone bad (sour). Other items were very good. Waiters were OK but had attitude - reason? now they are adding 15% tip in the check so they don't care about service. As usual, they were extremely humble and courteous to all but people from their own country. At $25/- for two people, it is not worth it. -Alan Pros: Ambience, Food Cons: Attitude of Staff, Stale food, Arrogance more

Love It 1/10/2005

We frequently visit this palace as a family. It is awesome. My favorite is Haryaali Chicken. more

Very bland. 8/4/2002

I am a big fan of Indian food, and I recently moved back to Philly from California, where there are very good Indian restaurants. I was excited to try Palace, and was extremely disappointed. We asked for our food very spicy, and got bland tasteless dishes. We then asked for some chilis to make it taste like something, and the staff was begging us not to do it, that it would be too hot, etc... We explained that we love spicy food and are very used to eating hot food. The whole staff then hovered over us in wonder while we mixed the chopped chilis in the tikka masala, trying to make it taste like something. If you like Indian food for its complex flavors and spiciness, then this place is not for you. This is Americanized indian food -- not the real thing. Pros: nice waitstaff Cons: bland food more
