Best

P.F. Changs is absolutely the best chinses restaurant around. If you go, you have to get the lettuce wraps- they are unbeliveable and you will always get them everytime you go. ...

Pure Fake Chinese 2/18/2009

There is nothing remotely Chinese about this food. It is of low quality by any ethnicity you might favor, and it sure isn't Chinese one little bit. A huge disappointment if you are looking for tasty, well prepared dishes. Avoid it. Pros: Intersting ambience Cons: Everything else more

Go elsewhere or bring your flashlight! 10/30/2008

Why wait in line to eat mediocre food and to eat in the dark? The place is loud, the place is dark and the food is tasteless at best. The only it has going for it is the location - Somerset Collections! I went with an older friend and I had to read the menu to him because it was so dark in the restaurant. I sent a message to coporate and they sent a note back indicating that they had recently improved the lighting and that I need to try that location again. I wrote back that I was just at the restaurant on Tuesday and I wrote the note on that Friday, so I had already experienced the ""improved"" lighting! After that, I received a ""so sorry"" note and nothing else. Won't be back! Pros: It's food and it is cool to look at (what you can see of it in the light). Cons: DARK, loooooooooooong wait, yuppie location. more

It barely gets one star because I couldn't choose no stars 4/18/2008

I've only eaten here once and I don't plan on coming back. I've tried the spring rolls (no taste), Kung Pao Chicken (stringy, overdone chicken, tastes like pure soy sauce) and ""Spicy Chicken"" (which, oddly enough, tastes like spicy soy sauce). The ""special sauce"" that the waiter tries to dazzle you with is a joke (and vile). You would think the people who dine here were dressed for tea and crumpets at Buckingham Palace, not a pseudo-nu-Asian chain founded by some guy named Paul Fleming. You are better off supporting your local small business carry-out place. Pros: Close proximity to better restaurants Cons: Too many to list more

Chain chinese fare because you so trendy 4/5/2008

Not bad food. I like the lettuce wraps but make no mistake, this is chain food fare. Because it's located in the ""ultra hip"" Somerset Collection, I really believe the patrons think that there is something exclusive about PF Changs. Pros: lettuce wraps and mongolian beef are good Cons: the food scream ""CHAIN!!!"", long wait and ridiculous crowd (evening gowns? really?!) more

Mixed Rating... Overall, Recommended. 1/16/2007

My wife loves the chow-fun. Pros: chow-fun and the cool horse statues in the front... surroundings... Cons: a bit expensive... extremely crowded... get ready for an hour wait... actually... without reservations, forget about it!!!!!!!!! (my wife is chuckling behind me) more

suckers' paradise... 12/5/2006

first of all, the definition of a bistro is 'small or unpretentious restaurant'. that is the complete opposite of PF Changs. prices are high and the environment is ritzy. yea, this place is packed every day of the week, but it's no wonder u find it at somerset mall. think of the people that shop there. i've been there to eat a few times, but not because it is the greatest ""chinese"" food. i'm 100% chinese and anyone who knows AUTHENTIC chinese food would laugh at anyone that considered PF Changs offerings authentic. for those fools out there who claim this is the best authentic chinese food they've eaten, you need to meet some REAL asian friends and find out what authentic means. every dish on the menu is americanized, for your information. us chinese people do not eat that junk. if you do go there, bring your credit card and point ur nose to the sky, cuz that's the only way u'll fit in. otherwise, go there to eat, and that's it. it's not the best, it's not the worst. i just think it's pathetic that caucasians can somehow make a million serving uneducated people food cuz they don't know any better. Pros: romantic (kind of) atmosphere Cons: high prices, snotty pretentious patrons more

So American 8/16/2006

After hearing all my friends gush about the great food, I had to try P.F Chang's. Wow...what were they thinking? This is not Chinese food. The dishes are more Americanized than your local Chinese take-out place. The high prices did not gaurantee quality and taste. Yet, the dim and well decorated environment makes this place perfect for a date. Pros: romantic setting Cons: high prices, bad chinese food more

MY favorite restuarant!! 8/7/2006

P.F. Changs is absolutely the best chinses restaurant around. If you go, you have to get the lettuce wraps- they are unbeliveable and you will always get them everytime you go. The place is busy, so you should call ahead a couple hours. But remember, it is busy because it is so good and everyone wants to go there. The prices are not that bad and everytime I have been there, the service was outstanding. Definitely recommended to anyone who likes Chinese food or even wants to try something different. Pros: Lettuce Wraps, the menu, the service Cons: the wait more

Try eating at the bar in a pinch during the lunch rush! 8/3/2006

I love PF Changs and have gotten creative to resolve the long waits. If I'm alone @ lunchtime, I eat at the bar. There is usually a stool open, or will open quick due to they are alone and in a rush too! If I'm with friends/family - we ALWAYS make a reservation and check in upon arrival. If the wait is still more than 15 min (can happen on a Saturday night even with a reservation), I'll to into the mall & pass some time. Just be back to the host stand within 15min of your estimated seating time as not to be bumped to someone willing to stand in the lobby for half an hour. My usually way to eat here is dinner at 5-5:15pm. You can usually get a table and just think of it as ""linner""! Pros: kitchen will give you a chicken dish with the sauce on the side as "chicken tenders" for the kids to eat. Mix what they don't eat w/the sauce and there is you lunch tomorrow! Cons: no kids menu, no kids prices more

Great place 4/23/2006

The food was good but a little pricey. The ambience was very nice laid back. The wait staff was great. The waitress we had was really friendly and she knew what to recommend. Pros: Atmosphere, food Cons: too pricey more

I'm spoiled, only P F Changs will do! 2/18/2006

I see a lot of chinese food snobs have scoffed at the authenticity of the food at Changs. Well I've never been to China, and I never intend to go there either. I am a lifelong fan of ""chinese"" food, but raised in America I guess my idea of ""chinese"" food is really americanized asian inspired ""chinese"" food. If you like my kind of ""chinese"" food you will love Changs. I don't even bother to get chinese food from anywhere else because everytime I do it's sooo disappointing. The quality of the food at Changs is top notch, no overly breaded mystery meat. Changs spicy chicken is my favorite, but Mongolian Beef and Crispy Honey Chicken/Shrimp are also fantastic. Ooh and lettuce wraps (chicken/vegetarian) are also outstanding. My only complaint is the long wait if you don't have a reservation, plan ahead if you want to eat here. Pros: food, service, booths Cons: wait time more

Amazing Food & Service 6/14/2005

While the food alone will keep me coming back, the drinks and the service are also just as good. Everything is ALWAYS consistant, including the fact that they are always busy. While I recommend making a reservation, it is definitely worth it. Pros: Great food, Great wine list, Great service Cons: Always busy, Kids on weekends more

Best China Bistro since Hoi Tin. 3/23/2004

P.F. chang's China Bistro is the best chinese restaurant that I have been to since Hoi Tin in Downtown Detroit i have recommend this place to all my friend and family. Everything on the menu taste great and the service was the best. I rate this restaurant a 20 on a scale of 1-10. a five star. more

Who Knew Chinese Could Be Gormet? 3/18/2004

The Chinese were the first to invent fast food. However this is anything but! I never thought of Chinese food as gormet until I ate at P.F. Chang's. The wait is long but that's because so many people keep coming back! The service is always polite and prompt and the food is delicious. The serving sizes must be taken into account for the price too. Many meals could easily be split between two people they are generous. The atmostphere and flavor will keep me coming back for years. Highly Recommend!!! Pros: Excellent Food, Ambience, Quality more

Chinese - NOT 3/18/2004

This food is anything but Chinese. This is perhaps Asian inspired, but this is yuppie food at its worst. It is overpriced, designed to be unique and interesting, but most Chinese people would probablyu recognize this as American food. Pros: Nice Decor Cons: , Overpriced, Too trendy more

Long wait 5/6/2003

I called to make a reservation but they seemed to be busy at that time and I was told to call back later and they bluntly hung up. I finally made a reservation for 1 p.m. on a Saturday but regardless of that I was ""told"" (not ""asked"") to wait in a very very rude manner. It took more than half an hour before we were seated. What was my reservation for? more

Try it! 1/13/2003

I have been going to this restaurant for years and I've never had a bad meal. The wine is a little pricey but it's always good. Pros: Great Food, Great Owner more

Beyond Wonderful 12/4/2002

The key to PF Chang's success is consistency. The food is consistently excellent. The other reviewer had some complaints about service; I can honestly say that I haven't had that experience in the years I've been a patron. The chicken lettuce wraps are perfection. Our other favorites are crab wonton (real crab and very little cream cheese!), Chang's spicy chicken, crispy honey shrimp, and Mongolian beef. The wonderful food makes for a long wait, but get hip: call ahead by 2 or 3 hours and put your name on the seating list. We often show up at the appointed time and are seated mere minutes after our arrival! more

Heavenly Food!! 11/15/2002

It is so difficult to find a good Chinese restaurant in metro Detroit. Granted, this is not a traditional Chinese restaurant, but the flavors are spectacular, the meat is tender and lean, and the atmosphere is magical. You must order the chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer-they are possibly the best tasting thing in the world! The service is sometimes slow though and there is always a long wait. Call ahead to put your name on the list. Pros: Unique, Delicious, Unforgettable Cons: Slow Service, Long wait more
