Great family friendly place with yummy food! 10/11/2011

We were in town recently with our three kids, trying desperately to find a cute breakfast place (and not resort to Dennys!). Our hotel recommended this Old Monterey Cafe and we just had a lovely experience there. We went there late morning on a weekday so no wait at all...everyone was very friendly from the hostess to the busboy. The food was yummy, I had the french toast and my husband's dish was esp. good (eggs benedict on a croissant)...most importantly, there was a kids menu! I would definitely go there again! more

Breakfast with zest. 7/16/2006

Old Monterey Cafe is a place that deserves the business it gets. It's busy, so as previously stated, make sure to get there early and be prepared for a wait. The portions are good and the food is fresh. A great way to wake up within walking distance of the water. Pros: Fresh, energetic staff, pretty good food and excellent portions for the money. Cons: Small and crowded. more
