This place is amazing! it has a breath taking view and they have wonderful 3 course meals. this is a MUST to eat at. There are lots of tourist here. Monterey in general is just beautiful so eating here was a great experience for me. they customer service here is good and the environment is clean. this place definitely deserves to be rated 5 stars!

Great sea food! The atmosphere is lovely. It is quite romantic at night with all the candles and low lighting. Linguine and clams are my favorite seafood and they came through with some huge clams. Great service and reasonably priced for seafood.

I've been here at least seven times in the last eight months. It's always crowded and despite making reservations, only once have we been seated promptly. That said, the seafood is the freshest and the best in town. The sauces are delicious without being over-poweringly creamy or cheesy. My favorite entrees are the shrimp scampi and the Sicilian Holiday Pasta. The golden rule is to listen to the long list of daily specials which vary depending on what's fresh and in season. Most recently, we had a barbecued baby squid appetizer with just the right touch of smokiness, crisp on the outside, yet tender and moist on the inside. We've also had softshell crab fried and served with light tomato-based sauce and capers. Scrumptious. My visiting friends have brought their business visitors from Japan and they have loved the Fish House and said it was the best restaurant they had been to in Monterey (they were here for a week). We've never had rude wait-staff even when the restaurant was packed. Desserts are barely passable here but hey, it's the Fish House, this is where we go for fresh seafood.
Pros: Fresh seafood, delicious sauces, polite and patient waiters
Cons: Bread, desserts, wine are all a little blah.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy this restaurant when we have the privilege of visiting Monterey. It has a classy and romantic atmosphere that we take full advantage of for a mini-vacation date night. We're hoping to go back next month.

We almost didn't find this just-out-of-the-way restaurant. We're glad we did because we had an amazing dining experience. The service was stellar and every dish was better than the last. We started with and loved the fava bean crostini and lobster mac and cheese. I had a vegetable manicotti with pea shoot salad that was delightful, and he had a tasty and unusual calzone. Don't go if you're looking for standard fare. Stokes will surprise and delight.
Pros: ambiance, unusual, tasty fare, stellar service
Cons: print a map, make reservations, wish it were closer

everything is realy good they make everything fresh ,great food ,nice seating inside and out they have two firepits outside and outdoor heaters all around the patio .i dont know what these people are talking about store bought food below because i had naan that came with my order and it was fresh, and i also had pakoras and i know how fresh pakoras taste like because i have friend whos indian and i got to his house all the time and eat indian food everytime i go there .so i know how fresh Indian food taste like sometime his mom makes pakoras and i just cant eat enough of that.

My husband and I love this place. It's hard to get sick of this food (we're regulars). The restaurant constantly has a "buzz" to it, the food is consistently great, and the service is fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Whenever I have visitors, whether they're foodies or not, I bring them to Montrio and they are always impressed. The White Chocolate Bread Pudding is a must.
Pros: tasty, creative food, great service, fun ambience

This is one of John Pisto's best restaurants on the Peninsula! Its not your average family steak house. Its very professional and more along the line of anniversary's & birthday celebrations. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I love coming here for specials occasions and would recommend to anyone!
