Coming from NYC to LA of course I have very high expectations for new salon - let alone a new stylists who can give my old stylist back east, a challenge. Ohm Salon definitely can compete with any top salon in NYC! The atmosphere is friendly yet calming & the customer service on point! Most of all my new stylist, Shannon definitely can rock any girl?s hair and glam it up! I went from jet-black hair to a dark-blonde base with platinum highlights. It was my first time at Ohm and I had an overall fantastic experience. Malina listened and gave me the cut, color and highlights that I wanted. She made me feel very comfortable and we had great conversation. I would highly recommend Ohm to anyone who is in search of a new salon. And ask for MALINA! more

I love going to the Ohm Salon?.its so cozy! Every time I go there I am always greeted with a friendly hello and the receptionist always offers me a variety of refreshments. I have been going to Jen for 4 years now and I have NEVER had a bad cut! She is such a talented stylist and she really makes you feel comfortable. Her cuts always grow out so nice for me and when we discuss what cut we should do for my hair, she really takes into account my personal style and what cut would best flatter my face/shape of my head. I am constantly being stopped on the street by people who ask who does my hair, so much to the fact that I carry her cards around with me wherever I go! I recommend you go to Jen, you will never want another stylist again! Pros: I love the atmosphere! more

My appointment was @ 3 so i arrived about 10 minutes early and wasn't seen until about 10 till 4, The Hair cut wasn't bad but it wasn't worth my lost time when i could have went up the street and been in and out in less time, next time i'm going up the street Pros: free beer Cons: everything else more

The haircut I got was quick and sloppy with ""friends"" layers -- not my style at all. Fortunately, hair keeps on growing, but if I want a haircut like this again, I'll go to Supercuts and then buy a top with the money left over. (Don't mean to slag Supercuts. I'm sure they try harder.) The salon itself, is casual, but could be a little cleaner. The stylist I had was NOT a good listener and a bit arrogant for my taste. Pros: Receptionist was nice. I can't say enough about Ohm! As others have mentioned, finding a good salon when you're new to Los Angeles is a NIGHTMARE. I was impressed by the reviews that Ohm had received, and I was REALLY impressed when I saw that the owner replied to negative comments. Their website was nice too, so I gave them a call. They were polite and friendly on the phone, so by then I was really looking forward to my appointment. By the time it rolled around, my expectations were really high, and this turned out to be well-founded. Ohm is located in a fun area of town that's great to walk around in. I didn't mind having to park a little ways away. The salon has such a peaceful setting- the wood ceiling was a nice change from high-end salons that try to look modern with boring utilitarian decor. It was really easy to feel comfortable here. I got there a bit early, and I was told that I'd be my stylist's (Sierra) first client of the day. They pointed me to the hairstyle books and offered drinks to my husband and I. When Sierra arrived, she introduced herself to my husband and I and she actually listened to me when I explained what I was looking for in a haircut. She looked over my hair, which is rather unmanageable, and explained exactly what she was going to do with it. After a shampoo and scalp massage with a nice minty conditioner, she went to work. My hair is very fine in diameter, but I have a lot of it. It's pretty frizzy and just a huge pain to deal with. I had a lot of dry ends too. Within an hour, my hair was sleek and straight, with choppy layers in front to frame my face. I actually liked how my hair looked for the first time in YEARS! No high pressure product sales when I was done- Sierra recommended I try a shampoo and conditioner, but gave me smaller bottles to be sure I liked it. My husband loves my haircut too and he can't stop looking at me. He told me I should have given a larger tip! I am so glad that I found a salon that I liked so I will take his advice next time! Pros: Skilled, creative and attentive staff, peaceful ambience. Cons: None! more

Being new to Los Angeles and trying to find a good salon can be a nightmare! Found Ohm on city search and couldn't be happier! I usually have my sister do my hair, however the 4 hour car ride is getting to be too much! Paulien was great! She not only listened to how I wanted my hair but also made some great suggestions! She took her time and treats bangs like a seperate cut! I have never had someone take that much care for my hair before! She also is just a generally interesting person, she seems lke she can talk to anyone about anything! I got the best cut ever and felt very comfortable the entire time. Also, being a college student, the price was just right! $60 cut! My hair looks like a vidal sassoon masterpiece! She's only there a few weekdays, but you can still see her after you get off work! This is a true gem of a salon, and lives up to its great reviews! Malina is the BEST! She's so talented, and makes you feel right at home. I called on a Saturday afternoon to make a Sunday morning appointment, and it was not a problem. The hours are flexible, and the stylists (like MALINA!) are top quality. With all these ravings reviews, I had to go and try our the Ohm Salon. And I was not disappointed! I asked for a cut that would look good even when I don't did not blow-dry (or even air dry for that matter), which is my standard, and was met with understanding and respect for a change. I visited Ohm Salon on a Friday evening, and Jen Bender cut my hair. It was a major cut (I cut off more than 8 inches) and the look was perfect. She worked with the texture of my hair to give me a cut that is simple to style, extremely sleek and modern. She also took into consideration how much time I usually spend on my hair and my activity level. In addition, she took into consideration the shape of my face, and placed layers around my face to accentuate my cheekbones. I came home, and the boyfriend said, ""That cut really showcases your face, and you look beautiful!"" Dang, Jen is fabulous. My cut was $60 (a little pricier than my usual $50 cut, but worth it). I hardly ever plan in advance. When I need a haircut, I have to get it done. This usually leads to calls about town searching for someon to squeeze me in...and Ohm was able to! I'd never been there before but my stylist Jen was amazing! I didn't really know what I wanted, just knew I wanted to keep it long-ish but my hair was just so lank and boring - just lays there. Man, did she take care of that! I also feel like I have thinning hair and she made it look thick and showed me some tricks of the trade to create that effect. I left feeling and looking beautiful. She really took her time to get the cut just right and took her time drying it too. No rush with the scissors here! Thanks bunches! Melissa gave me the best hair cut and style ever. When she finished and I looked @ my hair I thought ""I should be getting married today my hair looks so good""....even though I was just going back to work.... I have long hair and always have fear about stylists cutting too much off... but Melissa gave me great layers while keeping my length...She was patient with me,really listened to what I wanted, and used her creativity to give me a new look....A few of her other clients highly recommended her to me for her styling and color...So... I'd been seeing one of the ""top"" Beverly Hills hair stylists for almost 20 years and I wanted a change (or someone to spend time and figure out what to do with my hair!). I found Ohm Salon on this site. I called and was told Malina would be doing my cut. From the first time I met her, I felt comfortable and the color and cut she did was incredible. Even my friends were impressed - and all they've done for years is complain about my hair cuts. She takes time to talk and to listen. She selected the color for my hair and it's the best I've ever had. And she found a way to make my out-of-control hair manageable - and this is from someone who hates to have to do anything with her hair. I HIGHLY recommend not only Ohm, but Malina in particular. I spent 3 years looking around L.A for a decent stylist in a good salon. When I found Melissa I was ""one for two"". Great stylist, terrible salon...then she moved to Ohm Salon. I've been going to her for years and have never, NOT ONCE had a bad experience. All of the stylists are very professional, very creative, not to mention fun, hip and cool people. I just read these ridiculous reviews and can clearly see that someone doesn't know a good salon when they see one. Ignore them and pay attention to somebody who does. I've recommended Melissa to my friends and that is the BIGGEST compliment of all.
