I bouught a car last year from them, short test drive, I asked if all the feature work and was assured the care was in perfect condition.. It is my fault for not checking but guess what, no AC, no Heater (was bypassed due to a blown heater coil) went back 2 days later and asked if there was anything they would do to help corect the issues and was pretty much told to go to hell. more

STAY AWAY! They are crooks and thieves and will ROB YOU BLIND. I can't even go into my saga of harassment, threats, etc. My god, this has been a nightmare. more

These people don't deserve to stay in business! If you read other reviews about them on other sites you won't find many good ones! They expect you to buy a car from them right away, and if you say you have to leave, they'll tell you that it's worth the wait if you can get a good deal right? They don't care about the customer, they just want money! more

UPON ARRIVAL TO OCEAN AUTO I WAS MET BY WALLY WITH ENTHUSIASM AND ASSURRED ME THAT HE WAS GOING TO SELL ME A CAR. I WAS NOT BUYING THAT PARTICULAR DAY BUT WAS SHOPPING. I SPENT THE REST OF THAT DAY SEARCHING FROM SAN CLEMENTE TO GARDEN GROVE. THE MERCEDEZ E320 THAT I ALMOST IMMEDIATLY FEEL IN LOVE WITH WAS NOT FOUND AT THE PRICE WALLY WAS OFFERING, OR THE CONDITION. LATER THAT SAME EVENING I RETURNED WITH MY WIFE TO SHOW HER THE POSSIBLE DECISION I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE. SHE APPROVED (VERY IMPORTANT) AND THE DOORS WERE STILL OPEN AT 8PM. AFTER MY DAY OF SHOPPING I FELT CONFIDENT TO APPROACH WITH MY OFFER; INSTRUCTED EARLIER TO DO SO. OFFER ACCEPTED AND WITHIN THE HOUR I WAS DRIVING AWAY IN WHAT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT CHOICE. I DONT HAVE THE BEST CREDIT AND AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR TO BOOT. OCEAN AUTO LET ME KNOW FROM THE BEGINNING WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT IT WAS I WAS GOING TO NEED TO COMPLETE THE LOAN. Recently my girl friend and I wen't to Ocean Auto Sales in San Clemente to browse the inventory seeking a car for her 17yr old daughter. Much to our surprise we were met with friendly, kind, & well trained staff whom were just as excited as we were to engage in the transaction. With Easy credit fixing financing, a fair trade in and a conservative down payment we were still able to purchase a vehical with a 18 month payoff with reasonable monthly installations. Her daughter loves the car it runs great and we are very pleased. more

I recently purchased a used vehicle from Ocean Auto. They said all the cars underwent a through check prior to going on the lot. Unfortunately I trusted them at there word. I took the car in to my mechanic for a routine oil change a few weeks later. My mechanic said that the car was leaking engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, etc. Shortly after that the transmission started slipping and the head gasket started to go. I also paid tax and license at the time of purchase however, Ocean Auto never paid the license fee as I received a bill from the DMV and they said it was never paid by the dealer. I think this is illegal but I don't have the time or the money to fight them. At the time I picked up the vehicle, the manager Wally was very abrasive and rude. Per salesman Todd, Wally was having a bad day. Per others at the dealership this attitude is common for Wally. Wally has no business interfacing with customers ever for any reason and I recommend avoiding him if you can. I wish I didn't need the car so bad at the time as I would have walked. Currently the car needs several thousand dollars of work. I can't sell it and Ocean Auto won't take it back. I am stupid for trusting them. I was desperate and hoping against hope that they were reputable. I recommend anyone considering purchasing a car from Ocean Auto proceed with extreme caution and have the car checked out by an independent mechanic before signing the contract. With all the other dealerships in San Clemente I certainly recommend passing on Ocean Auto. David Mogi was apparently the best part of the dealership. He is no longer there.
