a wonderful theater in our own back yard! 3/27/2006

North shore music theater is a treasure right in our own yard. We don't have to travel very far to get a taste of broadway shows, comic entertainment, classic shows and more. They have some of the biggest names too. Like Bill Cosby, George Carlin, the group ABBA and more. They also have music concerts. So much to choose from. You can get season tickets for all the shows too. Great place and you don't have to travel to Boston to see great shows! more

North Shore Music Theater 8/5/2005

I love the North Shore Music Theater. Everything I have seen from the concerts to the play is just wonderful. There is plenty of free parking. No matter where you sit you have a great view thanks to the moving stage. I have seen Beauty and the beast on Broadway and at the North shore music hall and I must say that they give Broadway a run for there money. You just can not beat it. They setting at the plays will rise from the middle of the stage seeming so magical and breathe taking. If you go and see a concert there it will be one of the best you will every see and hear more

Summer Music Concerts 7/20/2005

The North Shore Music Theater is a spacious outdoor tented venue for live concerts. Plenty of free parking. Venue is handicapped accessible, every seat offers a view of the stage. These summer concerts offer something for everyone. For the kids and young at heart Beauty & The Beast July 26 - August 1. Oldies but goodies Wayne Newton Aug 2, Bobby Vinton Aug 3, Peter,Paul,Mary Aug 4. Maybe you need a little bit of Country Kenny Rogers Aug 8, Wynonna Aug 11. Last but not least Rock & Rock Rick Springfield Aug 12, Blood Sweat & Tears Aug 13, Air Supply Aug 14. Before and after most shows there is a meet and greet session. Plenty of picture taking and autographs. more

  • Since 1955, NSMT has become one of the most attended theatres in New England, with approximately 250,000 patrons annually. With a national and regional reputation for artistic achievement, NSMT has received numerous industry awards including Elliot Norton Awards, IRNE Awards, the Rosetta Le Noire Award from Actors? Equity, and the Moss Hart Award. Under new ownership in 2010, NSMT continues to annually produce a musical subscription series and an annual production of A Christmas Carol along with celebrity concerts and children?s programming.

  • The Scene
    The most remote row of the 1,800-seat North Shore Music Theatre is still only 50 feet from the stage (the equivalent of seventh row at the Wang Center). Opened in 1955, the North Shore Music Theatre was one of the first permanent theaters-in-the-round built in the United States. This isn't a drafty, tented setup but a real nuts-and-bolts immovable structure; the site was given a major facelift back in the 1990s.

    The Skinny
    Pre-theater dining can be done on premises (the restaurant is in a separate but attached building), but the fare is not the venue's strong suit. Good acoustics and superior sightlines--not a single seat suffers from an obstructed view--are. Pay parking (closer to the theater) is available for those who aren't inclined to walk from a distant space.
