NorthStar Moving Company

They scheduled a morning pick-up time, and they were supposed to arrive between 7-10am. They called the night before to change to an afternoon pickup with the window starting at noon and when called at 3pm stated they would arrive between 4:15 and 5pm. They didn't arrive until after 6pm. Needless to say, this caused me to miss a whole day of work and an evening commitment. We were very concerned about coordinating the arrival of our furniture since this was an out of state move and we needed to be there to receive the furniture or arrange for someone else to be there. At first, they gave us a 2-14 day window, but that our stuff would likely arrive within 3-7 days. We were instructed to call closer to the date for a better idea of our delivery date. We might as well have programmed the number into our speed dial. It started with "call closer to your move", then "when the movers pick-up your stuff, they will have a better idea", then "when we call you back with the final cost in a two days we should have a better idea" (they didn't call until day 5), then "your delivery will not take place in the next two days, call back in two days and we should have a better idea." Well it is currently day 11 and they called to tell us that our stuff was finally loaded onto a truck today and that it will be three days late, arriving on day 17. Mind you this is a move from CA to WA in the summer, so no inclement weather or other unforeseen difficulties for the movers. After talking to three different people for a few hours, they are now promising to be only 2 days late. This company simply did not make the effort to have our delivery take place within the delivery window as our stuff was only loaded onto a truck at day 11 and we were only informed of the late delivery the day the truck was loaded. Very disappointing. Cons: Misleading information at the beginning, then a general lack of information. Missed delivery window. Poor service. more

NorthStar moved us on April 13th and shortly after the move I called to tell NorthStar how great your movers were. Now that we have gotten around to unpacking all of our boxes we felt compelled to contact you again. They helped us pack under less than great circumstances, there was a lot of unorganized stuff laying around everywhere and I have to reiterate what a phenomenal !!! job they did for us. They packed even the smallest, least important things so well it"s really quite amazing and they did it quickly and efficiently. Eliraz Sade' was the team leader and he really deserves to be commended. We have already recommended your company to someone in our office. Thanks for your help! more

It is with pleasure that I write this review expressing my satisfaction with Gadi, Rory and his crew regarding my move on 5/18/07. I had over 20,000 pounds to move, including 40 boxes of china, a huge china cabinet and several new pieces of furniture about which, I must confess, I was extremely nervous. Not only did all my china and furniture arrive in perfect order, the care, professionalism and efficiency the crew demonstrated truly made what could have been a difficult day quite easy. I am grateful. I must say that my husband, who is very frugal and critical, said that he was more than pleased and he didn't even mind paying the bill. The crew earned every penny. Gadi was a pleasure to work with - personable, confident and reassuring, while Rory was an efficiency machine who coordinated and supervised everything perfectly. They were great. They helped me pack and they were very careful with all of my furniture. The movers were on time and they didn't over charge me or add addtional fees. I just had a local move from the OC to Pasadena with a two man crew and this team was fabulous. I have done a lot of moving and I have never had such an easy time. They were so efficient and still friendly and cooperative. I had a small one room move but I felt like I still got VIP treatment. I was also afraid I would get over charged on the long drive time but they almost beat us there! The whole thing only took the 4 hr minimum. Great job guys! When I had to move here from Northern California to Los Angeles I was really scared about choosing the right moving company. I had first heard about NorthStar from a friend who made her move from los angeles to San Francisco. She said they were great. I then checked them out online with the Better Business B and they had a great rating. So far so good, right? The day of the move not only the guys did a great job wrapping and protecting my things for the long ride, but they were also very very nice. They worked hard and I bought them a pizza for lunch which they devoured, impatient to get back to work. They inventoried everything really well and the office called me the next day to let me know what the weight came out to be and the total charges. It was not only charging me exactly what they said they would but it also was well within my budget. Six days later the crew that showed up with my things in Los Angeles was just as great as the one that picked up the shipment. Everything that they took apart, they put back together. They placed the furniture exactly where I told them to (it's a 2 story home) and by the time they were done all I had left to do was sit on my couch and breath out. It was great. I definitely would recommend them to anybody in Los Angeles OR in San Francisco going anywhere in the country! Pros: Friendly, Professional, On Time, Nothing Broken more

NorthStar is amazing. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find such an honest, professional moving company. I mean they really truly cared about my move. Eric came with his crew, and they worked so fast and efficiently, but everything was protected like it was a fragile item, everything from my sons little league trophies to priceless vase heirlooms. They took everything in the move into consideration, like for example they were extra careful to make sure that they didn't nick the walls in my old and new home and how they managed to maneuver down those two flights of stairs in such a narrow staircase I will never understand, but they did it, and nothing got hurt or damaged. I definitely recommend NorthStar Moving to anyone who wants a fair-priced, high quality move!!! more

I found NorthStar to be very professional from the first phone estimate through my move. The movers arrived in an Enterprise truck, which made me a little nervous at first, but they were on time, fast, careful, and very professional. I read the reviews on Citysearch and made sure everything was completely packed, so I only had to pay for the 3 hour minimum and shrink wrapping of my mattress and box spring ($16). There were no hidden charges and no problems. I would definitely use them again. Pros: Timely, careful with my things, fast Cons: none more

I just wanted to commend your company for their wonderful services. Saturday, May 5th was moving day for me and the two gentlemen, who came to my house, promptly at 8:00a.m., were super nice and super efficient. They told me it was going to be a small move, but transporting a fridge, washer, dryer, television and heavy boxes does not seem like a small task to me. I just wanted to thank you so much. Dear NorthStar, In January of this year, we used your company for a second time to move us into a new facility and we are very pleased to say that, once again, the service was excellent! Based on our prior experience with the company we came directly to NorthStar this time instead of seeking out other moving companies to compare pricing and service. Gadi came out and gave us an estimate, and as always he was very pleasant and professional and when we had to push back our move date, he was extremely accommodating. Once we were finally ready to move we were able to schedule a crew very quickly and original estimate still stood. On moving day, the crew arrived promptly, was very efficient and thorough, and even helped us to take apart shelving and furniture. Our foreman, Shay was incredibly helpful and professional; consistently checking in with us to unsure things were running smoothly. The rest of the crew, Iro, Haim, Tomer, Gal, and Maor all worked diligently and careful, moving so fast that we were packed and ready to go well within 2 hours! Upon arriving at our new facility, the crew again moved very quickly and cautiously so as not damage any furniture and make cretin everything was arranged as per our instruction. All of these gentlemen deserve reward and praise for their hard work. At the end of the day, the move had taken approximately 4-5 hours and our total amount came well below the estimate! Our encounters with NorthStar from the receptionist answering the phone, to Gadi, to Shay and his crew have been nothing short of wonderful and we would not only highly recommend NorthStar to our friends and business associate but would not hesitate to use the company again in the future. We felt a lot of trepidation about hiring a moving company, but from the moment Avihu and his team stepped into our apartment, that trepidation completely and totally disappeared!! They were professional from the first second, going over everything in great detail to ensure that they were doing exactly what we wanted. He explained all of their procedures....then they got to work. We were out of the old place and completely set up in the new place within 3.5 hours. Nothing was damaged, nothing broken, not even so much as a scratch on anything!!!!!!!! Aside from that, Avihu and his team took apart and put back together our bed frame, dining room table, and a few other misc furniture pieces. They were quick, they were thorough, and totally worth the cost. I would hire them again in a second and plan on recommending them to anyone I come in contact with. The move was painless, better than my best-case senario. I can't say enough wonderful things about them!! One word of caution: they charge for things like bubble wrap, tape and plastic wrap. Just something to be aware of! They were not excessive in their use or charging for materials, though. Bottom line: You won't regret hiring Northstar!!! They are professional, quick, and AMAZING!!!!! I just wanted to say thanks to Andrey and the three guys who helped me move out of my condo in Los Angeles last Thursday. I took off work and worked alongside the guys and we got it all done by 7 PM that evening before the Public Storage closed. It was a Looooooong day, but we did it. This was our 20st move over the years, and we never had such a good experience. The movers were great, The office personal was polite professional, the showed up in a great looking, new red truck, and was smiling the whole way.
