Best kept secret in Pacifica 1/5/2009

Nona's is small restaurant right off the one, and from looking at it you wouldn't think the food and service would be so great. Its small and has no atmosphere. But you never have to wait for a seat and they have the nicest people working there. They always have interesting specials so you'll never be bored with the menu and there are always new things to try. I try and go once every couple weeks to try whats new and I always leave with a new favorite. I reccomend the pull pork sliders, their meatloaf and the ribs.... Pros: great food Cons: no ambiance more

Should be called NoNo, not Nona 9/1/2008

Would not recommend Nona's for one reason, and one reason only, the totally erratic behavior of the chef/owner. Beware! He will not hesitate to belittle you, the patron, or his very young and sweet staff for the slightest reason. If he is there, be sure not to ask for your food to be cooked differently in any way, he will charge up to your table and confront you rudely and in a loud voice. Pros: pretty good french toast with fresh berries Cons: Terrible burgers, and hositle owner/chef more

Hidden Coastal Treasure 8/23/2008

This is one of the very best Restaurants on the Coast and the best part it is not very well known. You could call it a coastal secret that is kept away from all the visitors and is thought of as a community eating place. Food is excellent, prices very reasonable, servings huge and great service. Go ahead ask the waitress the specials for the day and she will actually have the list memorized! The wine list is full and well stocked and there is nothing more romantic than eating in this little hole the wall and then taking a long walk on the beach and watching the sun set. Pros: The perfect restaurant! more

One of my favorites, coastside 11/18/2006

When your heading south on Hiway 1 this is in the little mall off to the right before getting to Devils slide entrance. So make sure if you want to go that you turn right at the Linda Mar Blvd intersection. I hope some of you out of towners make it down here for it will be worth your trip. Pros: Nice friendly service and filling good food more

Great Food Outside of the City 12/20/2005

Nona's offers great comfort food in huge portions at a great price. Every dish is a solid value, and the chef definitely holds his own with some of my San Fran favorites. Prices are very reasonable, and there are always new specials on the chalkboard. And, the waitstaff is always smiling and friendly. The only minor drawback is the location in an old strip mall and an interior decor that looks like an old yellow diner but has modern photos of flowers and random knick-knacks on the walls. Pros: Great Food, Low Prices, Friendly Service Cons: Location, Decor, Small more

Great Californian experience 9/28/2004

This is a great little place that has sort of a historic Californian feel to it (note old fasioned stainless steel milk containers in back). Good wine list and really creative menu. It has that fresh, organic, uniqueness to it. We once had a problem with the servece (they totally forgot our order and we sta there for over half an hour before sayign anything) but the owner made it right. more

Eat Here 6/4/2004

I've been to Nona's perhaps 15 times, for both lunch/brunch and dinner. Lunch/brunch is best, as many of the menu items are less than 7 bucks. Service always good. Try the meatloaf s'wich - to die for. Wide variety of daily specials, using only fresh (locally grown, if possible) ingredients. Has ok wine list, but hasn't charged corkage fee. Pros: great food, great prices, smiling service more

Little gem 5/27/2004

Undiscovered gem, even among Pacificans. Located in a little strip mall, Nona's has an ever-changing menu filled with seasonal specialties. Awesome breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great value for the money. The garlic fries are killer! Try the red wine braised brisket. Pros: Food!, Value Cons: , No reservations more
