Not Crazy About Nino's 1/23/2011

Went to Nino's early this morning after seeing all the hoopla on the news about how good they were. I waited in line for 2 lbs of ham, 1 dozen rolls, and 1 sliced bread. They had 1 slicer going, and about 5 girls waiting for their ham to be sliced. I made a ham sandwich on one of the hard rolls......and I mean HARD rolls! It was so dried out that it was like eating the ham on a cracker. The ham was nothing special. The Italian bread was OK, but again nothing special. I think Sciortino's is 100% better, and as crowded as they get you never have to wait in line for 1/2 hour. Too bad, I was really hoping to find a good bakery in Washington County. more

Best Bread, Best Subs, simply great food! 9/16/2010

I am a frequent customer of Nino's bakery. Their bread is outstanding. I buy it as a nice side for dinner when having guests, to use as garlic bread, to use for dips.... It is made fresh everyday and is deeeelicious! I also love their sub sandwiches. No other sandwich place compares. My favorite is the Italian (of course) but they have an option to build your own sub as well. The canolis are delicious and the eclairs are huge! So delicious! Their deli case has a unique variety not like any grocery store. You can even order things special that are not there ready to buy. Things like spedini and rice balls...the real authentic stuff! So you know you are always getting it fresh. The ambiance is very appealing and it is family owned so they really take care of their customers. It's not just a chain like everything else popping up here and there. These people work hard at their life's business and take so much pride in it. Definitely someplace to try if you've never been there before. more

Wonderful Bakery 9/16/2010

This is for Fatkin's review. I don't know where you were, but you did not visit Nino's. They do not have carmel cannolis. It is a carmel cake, they have real cannolis with real ricotta in them. They do not sell bratwurst. they sell italian sausage. Their eclairs have been written up by Milwaukee Magazine as the best eclairs in Milwaukee. They have also been written up numerous times for their outstanding food. Obviously you have biased opinions maybe because you favor a different bakery and you see that Nino's is suberb and you are trying to bring them down. Get a Life! and stop trying to bring people's hard earned life & business' down. You really don't know what Italian is. Look it up! more

It's not Italian 5/27/2010

First of all I wouldn't call this place Italian. They sell bratwurst and other sausages. Just because you put pepperoni in your deli case and make Italian bread doesn't make you Italian. Pros: Very cute inside. Nicely decorated. Cons: Bad food. more

Best Subs In the Milwaukee Area 5/19/2005

Nino's is a family owned bakery & deli. It truly shows through the friendly service you receive with a smile from the sisters behind the counter, that will create any type of sub you could dream of, piled high on the freshly made bakery rolls or sub breads. My personal favorite is their trade mark Italian sub. Not only does it have all of the ""fixins"" & more of the usual Italian sub varieties, but they top it with seasonings & a Italian olive based gardinar(?spelling) that takes the taste over the edge & back again for more! They even have a dine in or take out Spaghetti night on Wednesday nights during the winter, which is awesome with taste & very reasonably priced. Pros: best breads, family friendly , Great cakes/cookies Cons: small tables, not open Mondays more

Great place! 3/2/2005

I LOVE this place! The food, the people, the atmosphere! It is such a great place! The fresh Italian breads are amazing and the sandwichs are unbelieveable! The cafe setting is warm and inviting, Italian music plays in the background while you enjoy a cannoli. You have to check this place out! more
