I was referred by a friend to Doug at Cristofori Jewelers. My friend went looking to get a diamond re-set in another ring and for platinum wedding bands. Doug asked my friend a bunch of questions and by the end my friend realized that 1) the diamond ring he had didn't need to be re-set, judt polished and 2) platinum wasn't really what he was looking for. The point is, Doug was more concerned about making sure that a customer is choosing the right kind of jewelry and not just trying to sell, sell, sell like they might at another store. Pros: Low pressure, good prices, convenient hours Cons: I'm sure there's something but, can't yet think of any more

I went to Cristofori's to find an engagement ring, and Doug was awesome. He was helpful, informative, friendly, and low did not presure me into anything. i was a very particular buyer, and he was very patient and helpful throughout the whole process. Cristofori's had very competetive pricing, a great selection of diamonds, and I was very happy with my final selection. My fiancee loves it and shows it off to everyone she can. Thanks guys! When I went looking for an engagement ring, I went to a few of the ?big box? retail chains who were not really looking to find me the ring I wanted. I shot an email over to the Boston Diamond Exchange and the next day, Doug B. gave me a call in the morning and a few days later we had our first meeting. I bought an engagement ring online a few years ago - and was never that crazy about it from start. then i decided that i should add more and more diamonds to a ring that i still didnt love - i decided i was going to sell it but of course - i would get either no offers or crazy low offers - i was at my end of trying to sell it and was just going to keep them- then i was online and came across nejex- i saw on there something about trading and figured ""what do i have to lose?"" i talked to Doug - and he told me I could come in there since you cant really talk business over the phone. I didnt want to drive there since i live 2+ hours away - he told me i could mail it..i will admit i was pretty nervous but i insured the package and mailed it away- of course everything was legit - and he got my rings . he called me and told me my options- which still we are speaking just over the telephone- doug completed my rings i ordered and sent them back to me today- i opened the package and was soooooo happy- he does really gorgeous work...i would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a talented jeweler and also someone who will work with you to create EXACTLY what you are looking for :) Pros: made me feel like i was right there every step of the way even tho i am 2+ hours away :) Cons: none- more

I was growing really frustrated with the whole engagement ring shopping process. drive from store to store, shop after shop... even these so called wholesalers... just lame! i new in the bigger stores that i was gonna get hosed with price, and when i braved going to the smaller shops and Washington street places i just didn't feel comfortable. half these the guys don't speak clearly and they just don't have good communication skills. they didn't explain value to me clearly.... at least i didn't feel like they had. Heard a commercial for this new england jewelry exchange and went to nejex. it's a relatively simple looking site, but it sure as heck beats store shopping. i spent maybe a half hour on the site, made my ""inquiries"" on the diamonds and settings i liked and in 24 hours had been called by the dealers and shops that owned the items. Got my surface questions answered and then went to two of the 5 places that called me back. To be honest i probably didn't need to go the places to see the diamond and setting b/c the setting image was on the nejex site and the stone was a GIA certified stone. But to have the option to see these items which i already knew quite a bit about even before going into the store was so hugely convenient i can't even tell you. Anyway, two thumbs up for the nejex people. new site.... i think it could use a few tweaks, but the concept and end result is just what this industry needs. Pros: All the jewelry in boston (and i think it's all of new england) online in a simple searchable fashion.... major time saver. you WILL find what you want here Cons: i didn't have to waste gas driving from store to store... oh wait, that's a pro. more

VEHIX for the diamond and jewelry industry. I found the site, inquired on a diamond from their pretty extensive diamond inventory list. they responded to my inquiry in about an hour and scheduled an appt at an affiliate location. We met and went over the various engagement ring components and i totally changed my mind on what i was looking for and how i wanted to spend my budget on the engagement ring. Super ""sales"" experience from my end. My research had been limited to online stuff, but seeing diamonds in person and being shown the pricing structure and how certain specs correlate with price.... WOW. Big difference. they took copious notes on my preferences and said ""stand by"" while they scoured their network of dealers and importers for the perfect stone. And they found it!! They shipped the thing in from Israel... just for me!!! Untouchable prices, untouchable personal attention. I was introduced to them through the Nejex network, but was then given personal contact info... was liking have a personal diamond broker. Thanks so much guys!! great service, and really great concept of pooling new england jeweler resources together in one location. very effective. Pros: super convenient. puts all the best jeweler inventories at your fingertips Cons: none.... great solution to the confusion of jewelyr shopping... more

I was dreading shopping for the ring! I didn't know anything about jewelry or diamonds and I didn't really care, but wanted to make her happy. I just proposed, she said YES, and if I didn't know better I'd almost think the ring had a lot to do with it. Finally!! It?s like the ultimate diamond and jeweler directory. No longer do I have go from store to store trying to find what I want. I spent less than an hour using the Nejex web site to browse different jewelers? inventories from all over New England? inquired on three pieces I found interesting. Two were owned by the same jeweler in Newton and one from a Jeweler in downtown Boston. Got my questions answered over the phone and decided that the items in Newton where closer to what I wanted. Made my appointment and drove to see Mark at Cristofori?s to see the piece in person. Mark was AWESOME! Negotiated with him and bought the ring. He?s sizing it for me today. Can?t wait!!! Anyway, thanks to Mark and a huge thank you to NEJEX for putting all these awesome jeweler inventories in one place for me to quickly and conveniently look through. Pros: super convenient. lets you shop online but buy in person Cons: none that i could find more
