highland peds 9/17/2010

i've used this hixson office for my son for years. i like them. they see my child asap when his allergies attack., help me out when he makes a split decision to play sports, meaning he needs a sports physical 'NOW'. I also suggest seeing one of the nurse practitioners or varieous other members of the docs in this group. of course i have my favs, still i like the whole group. as far as the receptionist's duties, insurance confirmation is no thrill anywhere. they've never messed up my billing or left me in a jam so far, and my son is almost 14 y.o. more

Not very friendly 4/24/2010

I just moved to the Hixson area and needed to find a local pediatrician, after having been with same pediatrician for over 10 years where I moved from. My 7 year old daughter needed some care, so I called and asked about seeing a new patient. After putting me on hold, the receptionist (I guess) came back on and proceeeded to give me the littany of rules, after confiming I had insurance of course, hurdles, etc. and to call back he nexr business day. The propogated medical environment of gatekeeper privilege of accepting new patients, when care is needed, is troubling. Especially, when you have insurance. Pros: Conveniently located Cons: Unfriendly office staffer on approach as new patient more

Wish Everyone Had Such Great Doctors 11/20/2009

I, too, am alarmed that someone is posting a rating based on second-hand info. Shame on you! I have a teen and we have seen five different Highland Ped docs over the years and all have been professional and truly caring. Dr. Neall and Dr. Coffman are our favorites, but we have seen Wood, Carroll and Eldridge, too. It is definately a ""patient-first"" attitude and they do not dismiss a worried mom's questions, but truly take the time to discuss any issues. THE BEST AT WHAT THEY DO:) Pros: Caring, Professional, Curteous more

Love it! 10/6/2009

I love Highland Pediatric - we have been going there since my son was born 13 years ago and with our daughter for 10 years. Dr. Neall is so calm and patient and knowledgeable. He takes lots of time with you. We've also seen many of the other doctors over the years and they're great too. My husband was a patient of Dr. Eldridge when he was a kid. It is also easy to get in when you need to be seen. Pros: Excellent doctors who really care more

Finally the right doctor 4/5/2008

It took me three pediatric offices before I found Highland. I have three kids and I have used Highland for ten years.I've seen every doctor there, my favorite is Dr. Coffman. He interacts with the kids and he takes the time to answer questions, explain whats going on with your child, and always has a pleasant attitude. I'm very pleased with how me and my children are treated there. I tell anyone who is looking for a pediatrician to go to Highland. I have had good experiances with well checks and sick visits. They have always took good care of my children. Pros: informative and careing doctors more

Excellent Practice 4/3/2008

I am the mother of three and all my children are patients at Highland Pediatrics. My first child was born with a serious medical condition and our pediatrician, Dr. Neall, as well as all the other doctors we saw were excellent. As a first time mom it was wonderful to be in an environment that was concerned not only with my child's health but the well being of our family. When my other two children were born I could not imagine taking them anywhere else. I have complete confidence in the doctor's and the staff. Anytime one of my children is ill they always find room for them to be seen. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a new pediatrician to try Highland Pediatrics. Pros: The docotors care not only about the patient but the entire family. Everyone we have seen puts my children at ease and is very compatent. Cons: Long drive from my house. more

A review from someone who actually uses Highland Pediatrics 2/17/2008

Why anyone would even listen to a review done by someone who has NEVER visited the practice is beyond me. Dr. Coffman is our pediatrician and I couldn't be more pleased if I had anyone else on the planet. The office is very professional and will do anything to ensure you are comfortable and happy with the level of care you receive. I've had my son there several times in the past few months because he hasn't been well and they ALWAYS accommodate me and make sure the issue is taken care of. Pros: Very professional staff, good quality care, location, hours of operation. Dr. Coffman is the best. Cons: waiting room time is a bit long, but it's flu season, so what do you expect? more

Highland Pediatrics 1/17/2008

I was troubled by a review that I read about this practice. While doctors are in fact human and all humans make mistakes, the reviewer gave the practice a negative review based on hearsay. Pros: Very short waits, excellent care, good experiences for my children, Saturday hours Cons: Some doctors only work two days a week, but I always see another great one more

Highland Pediatrics 11/3/2007

A friend of mine had her daughter there, Dr. Eldredge miss diagnosed her to the point where she was in the hospital for emergency surgery. Another friend who had her son there was told by most of the doctors there that she was imagining her child's sicknesses and when she finally saw another doctor he diagnosed him and it was correct and it helped her son get better. Another friend had her son there and was told that her son was just having a cold, even though she could hear pleghm build up in his chest. Over the weekend she took him to the Emergency room and he had pneumonia. I would definitely recommend you find another practice. These doctors mis diagnose too much. From all the stories my friends have told me, I wouldn't let my dog go there much less my child. Cons: Too many to count more

Best doctor 10/6/2006

Dr. Steve has been my son's doctor for 12 years. I value his opinion and think he is an excellent doctor. more
