Nathan's Automotive and Small Engine Repair

I went to this location to get my car inspected because it was close to my house. I walked in they weren't very busy. He took my car and started the inspection. I talked to his wife in the office about general stuff in the news. (Michael Jackson's death and so on). After about 30 minutes Nathan came out and said I needed back brakes and a tie rod inner drivers side. I asked his wife if I could get an estimate and she gave me an estimate of over $300. As she was ringing all this up I was just about rolling my eyes because I think they thought they had me. I left with my rejection sticker on my car. The next day I went up to my mechanic to install new back brakes in the car determined to have it pass. He started taking the tires off and found out that my brakes should have passed. He said they had over a year of pads left on them. We even compared the new brakes and the old brakes and there was not much difference except color. He left and told me that I should go back up to Nathan's to explain to me why my car failed inspection on back brakes. I said "No, I will not go back there but I would definetely make sure my voice is heard!" The next morning I took my car to another repair shop to get it inspected after being advised not to go back to Nathan's again. The repair man asked why my car got rejected and I told him. After 10 minutes he came back and said the car should have passed and there was nothing wrong with the front end. He said they were probably trying to get money from a female that they thought did not know anything about cars. I told him you are right. I also had the old brakes with me and the repair man measured the brake pads on the shoes and said they are well past the passing point almost brand new. I paid another 16 dollars to him and my car is now inspected. I also told my grandpa who has done work for them and he told me to never go there again.
