Be warned 11/18/2011

This is a company in which their service is so bad that they pay us tenants to actually write good posts about them on the internet. They are liars. I moved in with the understand that ""there wouldn't be an issue"" with the installation of a washer and dryer unit."" It took one year to get. They pretty much blackmailed me. Said I had to agree to renting another year with them before they installed it. What person in today's society doesn't need a washer/dryer?? I have two small children, we all know how capable children are of making messes. Now when it comes to service requests. My neighbor has physically crashed into my property(satellite, the apartment, my car(twice)) and myhomespot felt it unecessary to put a fence up. These people are still crashing into things to this day, almost every other month for a year now. As if that wouldn't give the normal person some kind of stress or anxiety...imagine a neighbor above you that can't remember to turn off the kitchen sink before he showers. Yup, has happened to me twice since I have lived here. And I informed myhomespot about the damage that it has done now to the cabinets in my apartment. Guess who was charged $100 for the vendor not having found a leak? ME. Should I have said, ""Hold on one minute, let me have the upstair tennant reinact what he did the other day""? These people take forever and a day to get stuff fixed. I informed them about it Last week on Thursday. It's now Friday of the following week and my cabinet it still moldy and cracked from the water damage. Belive me, this rental company isn't worth the headache. PLEASE BE WARNED more

Renters be wary! 5/9/2011

As renters, be cautious when renting from this company! My husband and I are a military couple that rented a property from MyHomeSpot for a year - upon move-in, the house was in fair condition, to say the least. Holes in the walls, broken bathroom fixtures, a horrid paint job in one of the bedrooms. All of these things, although noted upon move-in, we fixed (on our own dime, by the way!) and more! We left the property in immaculate condition, made sure to clean thoroughly - the girl doing the move-out inspection even said it was one of the best move-out conditions she had ever seen! She never told us of any discrepancies and we turned in the keys FIVE DAYS early. Three weeks later we get our deposit back, less $150 for cleaning fees. Upon calling and questioning the company, an employee told us that the new tenant complained that the oven wasn't clean enough and there were some hairs in one of the bathroom drawers and made MyHomeSpot pay for a cleaning company to come out, and therefore we were assessed a cleaning charge. We disputed the claim and three weeks later was denied, saying that the claims weren't from the new tenant and that the employee doing the move-out inspection couldn't tell us on the spot what we could be charged for ""without first reviewing archived photos, move-in files, lease files, etc"" REALLY?!? You couldn't tell me that an oven or bathroom wasn't clean without looking at a photo first! And even if you did have to review a photo, you had 5 days to let us know... We would have obviously come back to clean the oven if we knew we were going to be charged $150!!! Renters be wary!!! This company likes to nit-pick and are not very appreciative of good tenants. more
