I highly recommend anything made by Mrs. Grove's Bakery in Downtown Altoona. Their cookies, pies, pastries, and brownies are all excellent quality and very reasonably priced.
But the best thing at Mrs. Grove's (and the main reason that we go there) is for their famous cinnamon rolls. They are served with your choice of regular, maple, cream cheese, or peanut butter icing. They are fantastic! I like the peanut butter best while my husband prefers the cream cheese.
The only negative about Mrs. Groves is their very limited hours. They are only open on Friday and weekends in the morning and if you want the best selection you must get there early.
