100% honest folks here. I took my car in because it wouldn't start. I feel dumb saying that it was out of gas, but it was. Carolina Tire & Auto could have told me anything and I would have bought it. They didn't. By the way, the towing was 100% reimbursable. Better than AAA as I don't have to pay for it, just going to Carolina Tire gets me it for free. I took my Mercedes there for it's service A, 100% on time, lower price than the dealer and all my lights were reset. When you say Carolina Tire, you've said it all. Best in the business as they do it right every time I'm in there. more

I'm so tired of the big box, foreign owned tires with their big ads offering one thing and then trying to talk me into another. Welcome Carolina Tire & Auto. Thank you so much for your time in educating me on my car. Your prices were spot on, destroyed the car dealership prices and even beat Tire Rack. I can't thank Carolina Tire enough, great job. I ordered online and was charged on my credit card for 3 ""new"" Maxxis trailer tires. This charge, as listed on my credit card statement, was from Carolina Tire & Auto, Pineville, NC. The tires I received had a DOT manufacture date code of 4709 (November 2009). I called the customer service phone number listed on my invoice and spoke with several people at Carolina Tire & Auto to include the owner, Jim Seidel. Several emails were also exchanged. When I explained the situation with the tires being 2.5 years and not ""new"", I was told several stories about the tires like: the tires have a 6 year shelf life before installation, the tires are manufactured in Asia and therefore have a very long shipment time before arriving in the US, tires are at least 1 year old before we even see them, etc. Upon speaking with Maxxis Tire Corporate directly, it was relayed to me that their tires have a 5 year Warranty from the date of manufacture. They also stated that it only takes a few weeks for a production run of tires to reach the US. So the ""new"" tires as described and I thought I purchased are already halfway through their warranty period and the stories I was given by Carolina Tire & Auto are false. Mr Seidel offered to ""try to send me fresher tires"" but I had to pay the return shipping. I refused as it was requested by me in the original order to ship tires with a manufacture date of 2012 or at least later 2011 and secondly it is not my fault you shipped tires manufactured in November 2009. He stated he was truly sorry for my situation but they have thin margins and from their perspective they fulfilled their obligation in the transaction by shipping the tires ordered in a timely fashion. Wonderful customer service. So now I have filed complaints with my credit card company and also with the BBB against Carolina Tire & Auto. Note: Every tire sold in the US is required to have a DOT manufacture date code stamped into it on one side and usually installers put that side toward the inside. It will look like: DOT then some numbers and letters but at the end will be 4 distinct numbers like ""4709"" as in my case. The first 2 are the week the tire was made (47th week = Nov) and the last 2 numbers are the year (2009). You may want to start checking this date on ""new"" tires purchased so you dont end up in my situation. This review is a fair and completely accurate account of my experience with Carolina Tire & Auto. I can provide proof of every detail listed above if requested. more

The guys at the car dealership literally wanted $5,000 to fix my Lexus. I had catalytic converter problems. Knowing that the car wasn't worth that (it's a 1997), I called around. I saw the great reviews that Carolina Tire had. I was so impressed with Jim and his store. They found the same issues as the dealer (Lexus said only they could do this), make a recommendation to fix the catalytic with aftermarket parts and fixed my leaking engine. All less than 1/2 than the dealer and it only took 1 day. I am soooo thankful for Carolina Tire & Auto for saving me and my wallet. I'm here for life. more

I've been frustrated with the likes of Firestone or Tire Kingdom. So by chance I stopped by Carolina Tire as I needed a new set of tires. Mind you, I've already researched the heck out of the Michelin LTX and knew the lowest price. I'll tell you what, Carolina Tire knows how to do business. The service manager walked out to my truck, confirmed my size, made me up a few quotes and quoted me the LTX. How about that for right on? No less, he had the best price in Charlotte on this tire. I was out under an hour. I also found out that they have a very cool repair shop, I'm scheduled for brakes next week. Go to Carolina Tire without hesitation, you'll be impressed. more

I took my 2008 Land Rover HSE to them for a roar in the rear differential because they said they could fix it. BTW, I called the Rover dealership in Charlotte and they would only replace my whole rear end of my HSE. As I understand it, Carolina Tire had a tool made that needed to get the job done and then drove to Columbia, SC for some needed parts. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. more

Carolina Tire were good, they serviced 3 vehicles for myself, my wife and my wife's parents. No more, they lost all 3. My wife brought her car in for a check on a 'noise' she heard. They test drove it, and put it on the lift and told her that she needed 2 new motor mounts (on a 2006 Acura TL mind you) We got a 2nd opinion, from Acura themselves, who were unaware of the previous diagnostic. All 4 motor mounts were 100% fine. They found nothing, and no noise either. Obviously, Carolina Titre (Doug specifically) tried to make an easy $600 on us. He failed. He also lost the business of 3 families. Good job Doug. more

With the state inspection and an oil change I was back on the road in less than 45 minutes. Thanks Carolina Tire, you guys rock and are quick !! Woohoo, I found a place that cares about my time. more

I got in and out fast, my bill was the same as they quoted and I even got a ton of work done in their fine showroom with their free wi-fi. I used to go to big box stores and dealerships, but no one ever remembers your name and always wants to sell you something you don't need. Doug or Jim always know me, my car and never try to load me up. I wish everything else in life was truly this good and simple. more

I arrived at Carolina Tire at 9:50am for a 10:00am appointment. At 11:15am my truck had yet to be pulled into the garage, noticing that all the mechanics were just standing around doing nothing. When I approched the service guy at the desk he stated there finishing up a car and they would have my truck in the shop in a few minutes. After sitting there twenty more minutes and noticing that my truck hasn't moved I again approched the desk and asked again why my truck hasn't moved. After hearing yet another excuse I took my keys went elsewhere. more

Recently I went in (mind you I have zero car knowledge), with issues with my tires. Turns out we put WAY too much air in them, and they could have exploded on my drive over even! They took me in the back and showed me exactly where to find the information on my tires and on the car. They showed me how to properly measure the PSI in the tires, and showed me how to release the air. They even gave me a tire pressure gauge on my way out. I can honestly say that I will use Carolina Tire & Auto for all my vehicles needs. The customer service CAN'T be beat! :) I can now hold my head up, with a little more knowledge about my tires! more

I stopped in to get a serpentine belt replaced that I had in hand. It broke on my lunch hour so I went to AutoZone and bought one. I how long it would be to get to it and how long it would take. They said they could get to it ""right now"" and it shouldn't take long. 30 minutes later they pulled it in the shop. 1 hour later it was completed. They tried to charge me $212 for 2 hours of labor. I asked how could it take 2 hours when it was only the shop for 1 hour and I was there for 1.5 hours. They then corrected it and charged me a flat fee of $99.07. If this is their generic price for 1 hour of labor it is ridiculous. It shouldn't have take an hour to do it anyway. This is the first and last time I will visit here. They also pulled my car in front and left it running while the bill was being discussed. I am very unhappy with their service and will let everyone I come in contact with. more

Here's the thing about Carolina Tire and the team there. I've been to the dealerships and have tried the big corporate stores. For my time and money, Carolina Tire has consistently taken really good care of me. They know the names of their customers, it's always the same good guys there. The techs are helpful and want you to understand your car. Do they get busy? Sure they do, they're the best, the best are always busy. I have no problem throwing them my keys and just saying, take care of it. I also tell my dear Mother and my Daughter to do the same. Without hesitation, Jim & Doug and their team snap to it and keep me on the road. Now they have a 2nd location Uptown Charlotte for auto repair. These buys just keep getting better and better with each passing day. more
