Mother's Restaurant

I was on vacation in new orleans, and had never tried a po-boy sandwich. I took the word of about 15 different locals who said this was the best place to get one. Mothers is a fairsized place that is usually packed to the rafters! And with good reason, as a previous poster mentioned the ordring system is a little backwards, but the treat thats waiting for you when you get your order is worth the hassle. The Po-Boy sandwich was huge, and filled with debris (the flakes of beef, and juice in the bottom of the pan after a potroat) then some ham, turkey, and cheese on top. It was a very messy sandwich, but very good, it filled me up. I would recommend Mothers as a great taste of new orleans. If you want to eat with the locals, be sure to visit Pros: fast service, yummy, retro style Cons: long lines, rude servers, hard to find more

Cook me up some of doze fryed oysters and throw dem on a plate fur me ya here cause I like da way dey taste when you cook em Ma! This resturant is too good to pass up when you visit my home town of old Nawlins, I live in Cali now but when ever I come home I try and make it by this place. The process for getting food at this restaurant is perplexing. The servers and employees behind the counter all sort of shout customers' names at each other as you stand between them, waiting in line. Which is entertaining enough, I suppose.
