Monarch Florist

I've been coming to Monarch florist for the past year because my florist went out of business. :( I guess it's not a really profitable business. Monarch has been great. They've made beautfiul arrangements every time. I had them make one up for Thanksgiving and Christmas and they were beautiful. Their arrangements are very creative. They don't just trow it together. They really do spend time creating the piece. They've come to know me pretty well over the past year, so they understand how I like things. more

Because of recent surgery, many friends & family members were kind enough to send floral arrangements. The quality of Monarch Florist's designs, arrangements, and the longevity of the blooms was far advanced over those from 2 or 3 other local shops. When friends mentioned my preferences for certain colors and types of flowers, they were included in the original and beautiful displays that had everyone in the hospital asking me where the flowers came from. The hospital nurses even told me they had never seen anything so beautiful and one is now calling Monarch to have her wedding flowers done. The shop owners even called and returned several times to be sure the flowers were delivered to the correct floor and room. If you're just looking for a vase of flowers, this place will do just fine. I recently received an arrangement from Monarch, send by my boyfriend. A Marine in training, so he did his research on local florists via the phone. He said the lady seemed nice, so he felt comfortable ordering from them. Did the flowers arrive? Yes. That's about as much as I can really say about them. The flowers didn't reflect my boyfriends or my personality at all. All he was looking for was a dozen red roses. Apparently they decided to rip off my boyfriend by charging him overprice by including a ridiculous amount of greenery. Neither of us like greenery. The arrangement was oddly whimsical, stem lengths that didn't match, some greenery sticking way out of the vase. Then again, I guess it's easy to rip off a Marine when he's too far to pick out flowers. The florist at least should have asked how he wanted the flowers to look, and he would've told her that our style is simple and modern. Greenery has to be done right, not looking like a bunch of weeds were put in a vase, and a couple red roses thrown in there. Sadly, the roses weren't the main attraction as they should be in an arrangement, the greenery attracted all the attention. He also emailed a note to have included with the delivery. You'd think the florist would want to make a nice effort and at least print it on a pretty piece of paper. But no, the note was printed straight off the email. He was so disappointed at how lazy the service was. Needless to say, I disassembled the arrangement when I got home. I put the red roses in a separate vase by themselves. Which I then discovered, about 1/3 of the red roses were already wilting. Yay? I left the abundance of greenery in the vase the flowers came in, and it worked as a plain arrangement for the dining room table. Not to mention, with the high price they charged my boyfriend, they couldn't even include a box to make it easier to transport the arrangement. So here I am in my car after a long day of work, trying to balance this monster of greenery (oh, and some roses) in the passenger seat as I drive. I'm very upset as I feel they took advantage of my boyfriend, not every person wanting to send flowers to a loved one has the luxury of being home and hand selecting an arrangement. Such a small shop should've asked basic questions to figure out what he was looking for. Here's fair warning for any armed forces men wanting to send flowers to your sweeties at home: don't use this place. Thanks so much! I wasn't sure about using you, being on the other side of the planet. I went with my 10 year olds instinct and trusted you. \r \r My husband was thrilled to receive his flowers at the hotel. It was his birthday, no-one knew over there, things weren't going smoothly at work and he found out he maybe staying for an extra ""who knows how long"". Not a happy person. \r \r Thanks to you guys, we cheered him up a bit. The flowers were in his room when he got back after a long day. He smelt them before he saw them! I expected the ""chocolates"" requested would be a token box. My husband has taken a photo to show us what is in the Starbucks bag. I hope he saves some for us! \r \r The flower 4 days later the arrangement still looks and smells great. More importantly, he is still smiling.\r \r Thank you!!! more

I called to place an order the day BEFORE I need my selection delivered. I explained that they were being delivered to my wifes place of employment and that she only worked until 2PM. I asked that they be delivered as early as possible so that she may enjoy them while she was at work.\r \r I still had not heard from her by 10:30 so I called the florist to see when they were to be delivered. I was told that they understood that she was only there till 2 and would have them there by 1PM. That was very disappointing as I had ordered and PAID for them the day before and they were going to hand them to her on her way out the door. \r \r They were nice enough on the phone, but this level of service and commitment to meet my request was simply a let down. I AM VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED. There is NO reason these were not put together and ready to be delivered first thing in the morning this was nothing short of taking my money an running. I feel cheated. more

My parents live in Mission Viejo, Ca. and I truly love to send them flowers from time to time. After being disappointed a couple of times with online phone 'florists' I was drawn to Monarch Florist's website. The designs were awesome, the prices were reasonable and the staff has always been very helpful and friendly. I really think one of the best things is that Monarch Florist is a full service shop and has an actual location in Mission Viejo. What a find in this high tech world of internet advertising!
