Last week I went in to MVG to purchase some Water Lettuce for my pond. The saleswoman hand picked 6 bunches (each with 4-5 rosettes) for me, and was careful to explain which cont...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 3/19/2009

We purchased an orange tree just after we moved to Tucson. After speaking with John at length and relating where we were planting it on our property. They gave us the name of the guy who does planting for them. The total cost was around $450.00. When the tree had a HUGE setback we went to there place of business and were told TOO BAD by John. We asked to speak to the manager. The owner approached. She was completely RUDE, LOUD and refused to even discuss the problem with us. Apparently they do not stand by any trees, plants, shrubs or bushes that they sell even if you use the person to plant it that they recommend. They said that they would get it to grow to its original size, but we had to bring it to their property. This is a very large tree in a 24"" box. We had to pay to have it delivered to us. We refused. It has now been 5 years and with great deal of attention on our part, it finally has flowers. Hopefully it will bear fruit. The tree is still only 4' tall. When we purchased it was 6'. Cons: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERICE more

The Place to go! 11/13/2007

I drive by Mesquite Valley daily on my way to work, and there never is a time when I don't want to go in. They have an amazing variety of plants, coupled with an extremely knowledgable staff.\r \r Whether you are looking for something new or are having trouble keeping something you've had alive, they can lead you in the right direction. more

Best information and more plants than one could ask for! 7/17/2006

These guys have everything! Every kind of plant from desert natives to the oddest hard to find species, and there is always someone there who knows all about it. It's a great place to go spend hours wandering around because it is huge and parklike in many ways. There are many friendly cats to greet the feline lovers. Also a great place to look for gifts for that person you never know what to get for. We could spend all day there. Pros: Best plants in Arizona and information about everything. Cons: They are too popular! Go during the week if you can! more

High-quality plants and knowledgable employees 11/12/2005

This nursery has a huge selection of high-quality plants at reasonable prices. The employees are extremely knowledgable and can help you with any gardening question you have. There is also a store here that sells plant care products, garden decorations, lots of colored glass, chimes, and more! Even if you don't want to buy any plants, it's fun just to walk among the flowers. more

Fabulous nursery for native and desert plants 9/10/2005

Mesquite Valley is an expansive and impressive nursery, with seemingly every variety of desert plant possible! The vast selection of trees alone is almost overwhelming. Thank goodness for the incredibly knowledgable staff, who are more than willing to help you select the plants that will best suit your needs. All the plants at Mesquite are healthy and in beautiful condition. While the prices are higher than what you might pay at a chain retailer, like Target or Lowe's, the quality is well worth it! If you plan to do a significant landscaping project or garden, you would be wise to consult with the staff at Mesquite Valley before you make a move. PROS: Beautiful, healthy plants, great selection, good prices CONS: Fairly far east from central Tucson more

Best nursery around Tucson! 9/3/2005

If you want quality plants, this is the place for you. They have everything you could possibly want or need and maybe a few you never heard of. But the staff is helpful and friendly. They care for the plants there on the grounds. I also recommend the fertilizer that they have created as well. It is great for the soil here in Tucson. I have not had any problems with my plants that I have bought from them and have some really unheard of fruits too. This is a must stop at place if you are looking to landscape or garden. PROS: You can get help with any problems with your plants or bugs. CONS: They are not open very long hours. more

Great nursery 8/14/2005

This is such a wonderful nursery to go to. The employees are so incredibly helpful and friendly. My husband and I were trying to decide what type of tree to purchase for our front and backyard and they spent so much time with us talking about all the trees. They are so knowledgeable about desert plants. The only drawback for us is that they are way across town from us on east Speedway. more
