An experience to try at least once! 3/18/2011

I thought this was a great place to eat. When you first walk in yes there is a strange smell. Almost like stinky feet but I think that is from the cheese. I took my husband on Saturday and we had a great time. The only thing I would change is we decided to do ""The big night out"" which is a 4 course meal. I think you could get away with just ordering an entree & dessert. By the time the dessert came I was already full. You can also go onto their website, sign up for their email club & they will email you a coupon for a free dessert for 2. It cost $390.00 for 4 of us. We each had the full meal and 1 martini each. more

GREAT food, ambiance- not as nice as it should be 1/4/2008

I LOVE the restaurant! I first went to the one in Downtown Chicago its REALLY classy there!!! the one here in OakBrook, is not really as nice... at all. It does look like an old pizza hut, and the lights hanging on the ceiling are old green bottles?!? at first it was cool, but i think is more weird, i wouldent want one falling into my ""fondue bowl ""... that might do some serious damage!! haha... Pros: GREAT FOOD Cons: High prices more

A unique experience, takes time 1/2/2008

First you have to understand fondue- it is a unique way of cooking derived in France, focusing on bite size pieces of very fresh ingredients cooked to your liking by you right at the table. The process takes time that can be easily passed with conversation if you are here with someone who's company you enjoy. Enticing your partner with tasty bits at the end of a long fork and feeding each other always adds romance to your dinner... The flavor is unique, you're more likely to enjoy it if your favorite kind of meat is not bbq-smothered. I personally like the variety of meats offered by the main courses, as each has it's unique subtleties and I want to try them all. Traditional fondue is of course cheese or chocolate- the is were your appetizer and dessert will come in. Avoid the salad, (we didn't care for it either) get the shrimp cocktail instead. They have a beutiful waiting room and a romantic setting, and will not leave you feeling like a stuffed turkey afterwards... Must try it once, if only to know what it is! You may get hooked on it like we did, we come here for all of our romantic occasions. Pros: Something to remember, light and creative, entrtaining waiting room Cons: very crowded on prime time (Christmas, valentines), reserve weeks in advance! more

Food is gross 8/31/2007

Me and my wife thought the food here was gross. The cheese was stinky and left a nasty aftertase. The salad had twelve gallons of dressing on it. The main course was 4 cubes of chicken, pork, steak, and 8 cubes of lobster. Here is the reason it sucked: you are not supposed to boil meat! Boiling meat makes it taste like poopie. We didn't even eat the all the lobster, for god's sake. We skipped dessert because 2 hours at the dinner table is BORING. Someone else should not go burn a hondo here. I would like it here if I was on a date, because the woman you are with would have to listen to you for a solid 2 hrs. Pros: nice napkins Cons: Its located in an old pizza hut with the windows boarded up like its a meth lab or something. more
