Good Place to see a movie 5/16/2011

The theater is really holding up well. Far better than northridge mall. Far better than I ever thought it would be. Still wish they'd just charge more money for tickets and stop charging 4 bucks for a stupid bottle of water though. more

General Manager Very Unprofessional 11/20/2009

Had a horrible experience with General Manager, she was very unprofessional seeing how she wasn't getting her way she didn't want to hear our side of the story on how her staff let us in the wrong auditorium she then called us names such as "sneaking" and causing "trouble" and got humiliated in front of people got to a point where she got heated cause we were defending our point, and she called the police which asked us to leave without getting a proper refund and refusing service. Her staff made a mistake and it's rididculous we had to pay for it. Will never go there again, seriously need to work on its customer service. more

Maya Cinema 5/27/2006

Before this theater opened last summer, my husband and I always drove over to Del Monte in Monterey for a movie. I do not go near Northridge Mall due to gang violence incidents; i.e. shootings, etc. We finally decided to try the new Maya Cinema in downtown Salinas. We've been there 3 times. The past two times, the theater was extremely messy. We had to step over popcorn and trash everywhere. It looked as though no one had bothered to sweep it all day, much less between shows. I guess I shouldn't have very high expectations for Salinas, but when I pay that much for a movie, I think the theater could be swept. The last time we saw a movie, we went back to Del Monte, and we probably will from now on. more

Maya Cinemas 4/14/2006

Maya Cinemas is the newest major cinema in Salinas, CA competing with Century Theatres. This new cinema fulfilled my expectations, place a whole lot more. It's the little things like accepting debit cards that make it better. Most major theaters require you to use the inside ATM to withdraw cash which ends up costing you an additional $4. The seats were surprisingly comfortable and the sound was even better than the two Century Theatre's in Salinas. more

The New Maya 9/2/2005

Man that new Maya cinema is pretty cool. The seats are very comfortable the screens are huge, and the workers are very nice and welcoming. I went there last weekend and I was surprised by how big and beautiful it is inside. Great decorations. I was even greeted at the door by guy in a tux. It sounds dumb, but it made me feel special. Also the ticket prices are cheapest in town I think. more

New Maya Cinema! 7/29/2005

The new Maya Cinema looks amazing, and I will be going to watch two movies there today. The chairs are really nice, costing about $250 each. Three of the theaters include crying rooms for parents with babies that like to ruin good movies for other people. The manager is an independent film producer himself. This is Maya Cinemas' first theater, and they are going to show all types of films, including new, classic, indie and Spanish. Plus it is located in Old Town Salinas, probably the safest place in this town. more
