Never again. I had a negative experience last time at this place. Was thanking the new owner for helping keep the pub around cause of my Irish Heritage, and was told ""You are only 1/4 Irish"", then he walked off... I blew that off and I gave it another shot. Friends band was playing Saturday night. I sent out a grip of invites both facebook and myspace and also by phone. Only a few people showed, and they were from out of state. No one was charging at the door. The poor, but awesome bartender was overwhelmed with business. A girl hid beside me afraid of some guy inappropriately touching her and speaking sexually explicit things. She ran and there was no bouncer so I helped her get to her car safely. 3 other girls were complaining about the guy. The owner only told him to be cool. He was obviously out of place and acting strangely, wandering around and pretending to call people but never speaking. Friends band was told they would get paid $100 to play, so they drove in from Ridgefield and Vancouver. Owner had the bartender break the news that they weren't getting paid, long after the lat band played and they waited around. Not very honorable to say the least. Not going back on my own... Its too bad to see such horrible business practices. I really hope they don't treat employees the same, as they rocked. I don't usually take the time to review dining experiences, and I do not usually complain unless something is terribly wrong with the food. During my recent visit to Maguffy's Pub last Sunday afternoon, both applied. We stopped in K-mart next door to pick up some gardening supplies and were hungry having missed lunch. I suggested we try Maguffy's as they have a large sign on their building proclaiming ""Famous Fish n Chips"" I ordered the Fish n Chips with ""tots"" and my wife ordered a Southwest Burger. We were the only people in the place, although a few people did come in to sit at the bar. My meal looked terrible when it came out. The most appetizing thing on the plate was the lemon wedge. Both the fish and tots were clearly overcooked. I tried to salvage some of fish by breaking into the middle of one of the 2 small fillets that were served. The taste was awful! I suspected that not only was the fish burnt, but the oil tasted like something that my have not been changed for quite some time and had a very ""off"" taste and dark complexion. The tots were nearly indistinguishable in taste from the fish with the same. I ate a couple before realizing none of this meal could be salvaged. Luckily, my wife offered to share her burger with me. It wasn't great but was edible. I asked her what made the burger ""southwest"" as it tasted like a dry version of a super star from carl's jr. that had been sitting around for a while. She said I think it's suppose to have southwest sauce and jack cheese, but I can't taste any cheese. We proceeded to open and inspect this burger. There was some kind of sauce which tasted like thousand islands dressing, and apparently they do not use a whole slice of cheese because I did find a few melted shreds of cheese on my half. The burger was also served with tots. After paying the bill and leaving the standard 15% tip, I told our server, who also was the bartender that it was the worst fish n chips I have ever had. She replied that I should have said something and they could have taken it off the bill.
