Lion Country Safari

Looking for something to do with the kids... this is a really fun place. The safari is great. Just long enough. We really enjoyed seeing all the animals in their groups. The lion area is neat... great to see such beautiful animals so close. The admission price (which even with the coupon is a little pricey) lets you into their fun park area. The merry-go-round looks like it needs a face lift. There's also a flying elephant/ dragon ride and a new ferris wheel that's small and didn't go fast enough for a 4 yr. old. They have free mini golf, paddle boats and lots of animals to look at. They also have a lorry feeding area ($1.50 fee) which is fun and a giraffe feeding area, that's new (also a small fee) and pretty cool. Neat to look into the eye's of a giraffe. They also just finished a splash area for the kids. We didn't use it, but seems great for a day in the summer. All in all, we had a blast. more

It would have gotten all five stars from me if it wasn't for the entry fee. I remember going as a kid and they charged a set price for the car load, now they charge per passenger. I haven't been here since they got the giraffe, and the last time I went it was raining, but it was still a good time. We had a lot of fun feeding the little birdies. Be warned though, the birds can get a little Hitchcock-like. If you have the food, they fly around above close to your head, land on you (your arm, hand, head, whatever) and one of them bit my finger. The drive through is pretty cool too....they offer the narration on tape and CD and it's not like at Disney; you're guaranteed to see a lot of animals. more

There are 500 Acres Of Adventure. You drive through 4 miles of untamed wilderness. Thousands of wild animals roam free in natural wildlife preserves. At the end there is a walk through park complete with a petting zoo, water park, a giraffe feeding station, boat ride, miniature golf kiddie train rides, a garden maze. Take the kids and grandkids. They will love it My grandkids have been there many times On Southern Blvd 10 miles west of the Florida Turnpike more
